How would you approach a list with this theme? Have Shinobu/Oniwaban alpha strike their defenses before moving the gang up the board? Yojimbo seems like a must have for style and reliable smoke. How about a couple of Ryukens and a defensive Keisotsu core to survive 1st turn? Not sure how to tackle this tbh, but I know I want to do it.
I feel like it might be more useful for getting the bikes into the midfield quicky than anything else. I'm mostly worried about the KHD cybermasking up to things like Kamaus and blasting them.
Yojimbo is allowed in a haris now? Oo that would be crazy awesome. I haven't played a biker Gang as of now but i am bond to Do that simple because I can. I would Pick at least one spitfire Aragoto for aktive Shooting duty. Kuroshi for smoke and the hacker to have an additional specialist. Yojimbo as solitary smoke dispenser and missle, a ruf shi for smoke, shinobu or onlwaban for nasty AROs, an o yoroi as lt and brute force solution? I will Play something like this my next game!
Unfortunately not. I just added him because he fits the theme and has more reliable (throwable) smoke.
It’s an awesome theme and you should do it because it’s fun! Moving a bunch of S4 around at once is really tricky. I’ve tried it with coordinated orders even (much looser than a link) and found decent positioning to be a real challenge. Two is doable on most tables, but three is going to depend on some very open routes, or letting your other link members lag well behind the leader. That and losing the impetuous order are balanced out by getting cover (less of an issue in current ITS) and the +1B. Overall running them solo seems more appealing if there’s a good route of advance to use that free Impetuous order. Linking would be better if you’re moving forward to shoot on your very first order. I used to play a bosozoku gang a lot in N3. It can only get better now!
What I've found from my playtesting is that: you are taking 4 big fat bases, which, Impetuous or not, are really difficult to hide. So your list will be better served if you opt into units with Forward Deployment and Infiltration, so you can give some space for the bikes in the DZ. The bikes are very 1st-turn oriented, so you want a high WIP Lt.
