Anyone got opinions on which faction does it best. Pan-o has great remotes but hacking protection is limited, however the tech-bee helps with logevity. Yu-jing has solid remotes with average hacking protection. Nomads has great hacking protection but the remotes dont cover all the roles well. So what are other peoples opinions.
Well it's technically Onyx and probably OSS, but you probably didn't mean the alien S2 ones. I think it is Nomads simply because Nomads REM are combat units and Nomads support them. PanO and Yu Jing have REM that are built to support the rest of the force. So if you like a REM theme you'll get the best feeling there.
Yu Jing's MVS2 Bot buffed with Marksmanship Lv2 is a scary proposition to most armies, especially mixed with smoke.
Well PanO has a great ODD bot that is very scary imo. Yu Jing has has a MSV2 and is probably the single best bot in the game. Nomads have a few interesting bots that I really like. However the best faction for bots is hands down Onyx. Q-drone, a linkteam of murderbots, and the best backline order bots imo make this an easy pick.
Best fireteam bots atm: Unidrons. Best baggage bots: Ikadron Best EVO bot: frigging combi-toting E-Drone Best Total Reaction bot: Frigging mimetic Total Reaction CA drone... Best Specialist (button pusher) bot: Dakini Best mobility murderbot: Garuda Faction with most S>=3: Nomads Best defense bot: Lunokhod (BSG and Koalas) Best non-TR ARO threat: Feuerbach Tsyklon Best non-TR Sup Fire ARO piece: Bulletteer ODD Spitfire (best penalizer), but the Tsyklon Spitfire has 360º and X-Visor (best ignore penalizers) Best hacking options and support: Nomads Faster contender for the "Aggressive hacking actions": Combined Army's Kerr-Nau and Bit as Pitcher-toting KHD with upgrades. Best support for remotes: Nomads with Zoe, Tomcat Engineer, Clockmaker... I'd say it's between Nomads and CA mostly, with Nomads having more options for cheap hackers (because they are more specialized), remote-recovery (Zoe and the Tomcats are very interesting) and more long-range easily improved remotes, giving more use to the EVO supportware, while CA has the only armed EVO, with less use for the Overclock program.
I'd say Combined Army. Those things are scary. Wait, do Aux-Bots count? Because my local PanO player spams those things like they were rabbits and those things with flamers are EXTREMELY annoying. In that case it would be PanO
Best looking is the Nomad combat REMs, tie between Nomad and Haqq baggagebots, and I think a tie between YJ and PanO S3 bots. Special mention to the Nomad Meteor AD4 combi+FObot for appearance. Most capable is probably the Nomad combat REMs, closely followed by buffed YJ MSV2bot, then the PanO ODDbot. Otherwise, all the S3 bots are about the same.
There’s s fan rules game for Drone Racing that looks really great. I think it’s somewhat like the board game Formula Dé with booster panels like the old Playstation game Wipeout. I didn't get a chance to play it, but it was great to see all the drones from each of the factions side-by-side. Maybe someone has a link to the creator's site and some pictures?
I don't think Nomads have the best remotes but between Clockmakers, Interventors and Tomcats they have the best support. If you want a gameplay style that is centered around remotes they have the deepest options.
I feel that Nomads are the best REM faction because their REMs are the most reliable and broadly capable. Like, the Bulleteer and Rui Shi are both great straight shooters, no lie. But the Tsyklon has more flexibility, and can carry more weight. It's mobile, it can cover itself, it provides infowar support with it's pitchers, it's got flexibility of range with the X-Visor. The Lunokhod is an excellent counterpart, it's got all the same advantages, but it's loadout is fantastic for CQB. If you run REM heavy with PanO you get a lot of good BS ftf rolls and not much else. If you run REM heavy with Nomads, you get loads of options. Yu Jing give options too, but they're somewhere in between. And in terms of support for them? Zoe gives you a 0 SWC hacker to buff them, who's also a WIP 15 Engineer. And you've also got the Tomcat Engineer for dropping on to fix REMs up the board, you've got Interventors to keep them safe from being hacked and can provide buffs, you've got Clockmakers, you've got loads of relatively cheap and effective ways to keep them going, and they themselves will do the job. And in terms of sheer options, you've got the Meteor for an AD REM as well! That's a rare novelty in of itself. CA does have great REMs and some stellar options like the Batroids, the EVO Drone and the TR Plasma Rifle. Plus Onyx is perfectly situated for a REM Sectoral. So they could compete. But it's between those two for me. We'll see what ALEPH gets in the Vedic Sectoral too, they might be able to give the other two a run.
Everyone talking about PanO rems may want to take a hard look to the PaceMaker, its a brutal alpha strike machine. It can burn the enemy DZ and clean dudes like candy and if you go second with the mid-table repeater, auxbot and a HSG is a really annoying speed-bumper. My meta hates him much more than the Bulletteer.
Peacemaker is probably my favorite REM so many people forget PanO gets the other infiltrating repeater.
I think PanO probably has some of the best remotes.... but best remote faction? No, because they have less of the tools needed to adequately defend and support those remotes (good hackers, good engineers).
I think Ariadna is the most remote faction, they are super isolated from rest of the sphere, and Usariadna is the most remote sectorial living on the frontier and seem to be the best at it.
Yep, they are far far away aren't they? But with the new BoW campaign playing on Dawn the may want to get even farther away
Cheap regular Hacking Devices is probably more important than "good hackers" but given Moderator Hackers are a thing the answer is almost certainly still Nomads. I'd just like to draw attention to the Meteor here, it's commonly overlooked but really is another key reason why the Nomads probably end up with this title. Now, a special mention should go to PanOceania thanks to the Peacemaker/Bulleteer and plentiful Fugazi (especially the 3 you get in Acon and NeoTerra) as well as their Fusilier hackers. The beauty of Overclock on a Peacemaker with Heavy Shotgun in the midfield (thanks to the effect proccing to the Heavy Flamethrower Auxbot as well) is tough to overlook. This makes PanOceania probably the strongest overall with this particular trick. Again, special props to the Rui Shi as the single most deadly remote with Assisted Fire. This is a perfect attack remote, basically rendering all defensive investment useless and capable of tearing through enemy camo units that aren't in marker state especially (which forces order consumption to get them back into marker state).
