So to my knowledge there’s no limit on the amount of Antipodes you can have in your force (barring limits on their units). Is that the same for Bearpodes? And are there rules (I couldn’t find any) on forces with both Antipodes and Bearpodes mixed together? I guess I’m not understanding why there’s a limit on Dog-warriors, but none for the ‘podes. Many thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Do you mean the fact that Cameronians and Devil Dogs share AVA with Dog-Warriors? That's a legacy thing back to the Human Sphere expansion. Probably wouldn't affect much if they removed the rule now.
Yes! That’s the one. So I can create an army with at least SIX Bearpodes/Antipodes but I get no luxury when using Dog-warriors. Of course nothing really stops me from having SIX ‘podes and THREE Dog-warriors. That’s a potent array, IMHO. Now stat wise Dogs are a bit tougher, but they are vulnerable to viral weapons (but with a W2 who cares?). Throw in the ‘podes and now I’ve got werewolves that can blend into the background. What I’m getting at is this: why limit the Dogs? It doesn’t hurt me because I can field this Army, but shouldn’t the ‘podes be limited too? Or a limit on both? Say a combination of no more than three of ‘podes/Dogs? Just like I said before, it’s a thought. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Like I said, the restriction was from the first expansion to the game when things were very different. I don't think it's really been thought about a great deal since then. Especially with the new rules for Impetuous in N3 and trooper cap in N4 the cap on Doggos isn't needed, but I also don't think people are really clamouring to run 2 Dog Warriors, a Cameronian, and a Devil Dog in the same list either.
Wouldn't it just make the most sense to drop Dog Warrior AVA down to 1? 1 x Bearpode 1 x Dog Warrior 1 x Cameronian 1 x Devil Dog That seems sufficient.
I see what you’re saying, colbrook. With the 15 trooper limit that cap should be removed (and when Human Sphere N4 comes out, it might). I’ve always seen Doggos as TAGs for Ariadna (but lacking ranged weapons, unless I missed a unit who does) that supplement the Blackjacks. But managing more than one or two Doggos and ‘podes can be more work than they’re worth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
