With the dawn of mixed core links in ASA I was thinking, who would be the better active turn hunter in a "Regular Core Link". I know there isn't a definitive better option,so we could also list factions or situations where one is better, or just general link lineups that justify one or another.
Depends on your meta, I'd say. If you face a lot of TR pieces and other tactics that involves multiple dice on ARO's, then I'd go for the ORC, for the simple reason that he'll survive that high likely stray crit. Furthermore he has BS14 vs the 12 of the Bagh-mari. The difference i only 1 BS in favour of the Bagh-mari when it comes to Mimitism. I'm personally not keen on downgrading to a 4-2 move for such a minor difference. On the other hand, if your meta is full of -3 visual Mods then go for the Bagh-mari. That's just my opinion though.
They are a lot of things to considerate. If you go to one group probably the best choice will be the ORC HMG+Baghmary snipper (+minelayer) and three regulars friends (or maybe two of them). An them you can invest more points in other troops relatively expensive. If you want more troops and two combat groups, probably you could use the only baghmaris options and not ORC "inside". Like @Zewrath have said before, your local meta can change the obvious choice. In order to shoot someone with mimetins or CO, the ORC go probably 14+3+3 -6 = 14, and the Baghmari 12+3+3-3=15, pretty mucho the same, but if you have to discover previously, the baghmari it is a much better option: Baghmari 13+3 - 3 (if cover) = 13, insted 12+3-6 (if covert) =9 of the ORC.
Sure, as it's written the ORC can join any Fireteam Core of Regulars, this would include a Special Core of Regulars and Bagh-maris (and vice versa).
