To quote the white noise podcast, the asawirad resemble smashed crabs. But the profiles are sleek and unique. What are you using, or what would be a good proxy for the asawiras?
You could start with the Spec Ops guy for the universal proxy (now in N4 he's likely to be your second Barid). Then there's the smaller Janissares model from the old Haqq starter which wouldn't see use in HB and unlikely in Vanilla now since the models were updated. Alternatively if you play Ariadna the Vet Kazak would play the part though he might look out of place.
The Asawira doesn't photograph well, but I was surprised to find that I like him in person. In the photo he looks hunched over like a caveman, but in person it's more like he's leaning forward poised to attack. Matter of taste of course, but if you've only seen the photo, I'd suggest having a look at the model in person before you make your decision. Proxies would be tough since Haqq has so few HI. Janissaries I guess. You want something beefy-looking since Asawiras are super hardened even by HI standards. Or you could use Hospitallers for lols.
@jmmelo My sincere apologies for not linking you to this in my previous post - you were the reason for my answer with this particular model :)
Yeah. I am kinda sad that my Akbhar Janissary will become an Asawira Doctor (I use the Janissary model from the old Haqqislam starter). But for two points less and gaining Frenzy, you gain so much. The N4 loss of the ability to choose for an Akbhar doc to get a +3 for one wound doctor roles is pushing me in that direction.
Really? I am honored I love the idea of using Janissaires, though... other than the HMG/Spitfire, the weapons match.
Well, old BSG sorta looks like pulse rifle from Aliens, but with drum mag. I, personally, don't have much trouble imagining it to be some sort of assault weapon - a Spitfire equivalent. At some point I considered finding a way to maybe magnetize my jans to make them stand as different Asawira profiles in HB. I'm not sure if it's any good of an idea. Probably there is a very good reason I've ditched it besides me being too lazy to even sell all this stuff I no longer use, nevermind actually investing any effort into these models. Otherwise, I've never seen any problems with just using Jan models...
@RobertShepherd That grey is awesome, if you care to share your recipe, I would be very happy please :) I never thought to do my Haqq in grey, but they look great - you've pretty much captured the colours I was going to use for my IA!
It's Vallejo Mecha colours - titan dark blue, highlighted up to grey green. Add some white for the highest highlights as required. :)
Wonderful thank you! I've not tried the mecha colours yet, but that's such a great excuse to give them a lookin :)
I like the Joan conversion - not sure why I missed this when you posted it before ! Where did you source the back fins/exhausts/etc and the two thigh guards? As for PanO, I like the new Orcs but unsure how they translate. I'm still hoping for an entirely redone trio of Asawira to replace the old and the newer one.
I bought a bunch of the old asawira sculpts when our local shop got a big dump of infinity models from a store going out of business. I got like 3 spitfire asawiras, and 2x rifle asawiras. Shona was an arm swap, the fins are part of the arms from the rifle asawira. Joan was a cut and file down of the long sword to fit Kasym Bags sword and scabard and the fins.
