Hopefully an easy one. Can you place direct templates in theoretical locations. For example; The active Model A is 1" from model B in a corridor. Models B and C are enemies and Model D is friendly. ------------- O O O O ------------- A B C D Can model A angle the template into the ground such that it only its B and C, travelling under D. Even thought the player could never place a template widget this way? Or more simple, are there physical constraints a player must follow when placing templates or is anything game provided the blast focus is touching the active models silhouette.
We've always played it yes, you can position a template into (or out of) the plane of the table. So in this case, you could place it pointing into the table, or up to clip the heads of B and C but go over D. I asked a similar question awhile back, and got this answer that I'm giving you - hopefully it's still the case. https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/templates-into-the-plane-of-the-table.25207/#post-156638
