Hi, I don't often speak on this forum but when I do I do so in the form of complaining about how our beloved Aleph is treated by the CB. In a recent presentation. Top 10 efficient armies are given and our Aleph is the king of this list. As Bostria says the factor that is taken into account is the number of victories against the number of battles played. Eff.=(number of wins)/(Number of battles played) . I would be very interested to know how many battles Aleph has played in ITS and I would be very interested to know how many battles CA has played. Because this information would open our eyes, I think CA played many more battles in ITS/campaign and their EFF factor. Is done more accurately due to the larger statistical sample. Aleph is only the 17th most played army in ITS tournaments. Therefore, it played far fewer battles than CA. Our EFF coefficient. cannot be compared to CA in this way. Now I understand why my favourite army was treated this way. You can also see to Bostria's reaction as he talks about the new profiles and sums up Hoplita "nothing special". You can also see it in the reaction of Haqisslam players, there is joy there with the new profiles and a willingness to play. We got the biggest update to our army in three years. And on the forum silence and no euphoria, no joy of new lists. The answer is simple why this is so: 7:21 of this video I tried to play every tournament in N4 with this Aleph but now my models are flying on the shelf because I'm not going to get frustrated. Now I would like to summarise the unit update: ... meh I like the sculpts mega great job. Thank you to the creator of the new Aleph rules. Thanks to you I will change my army because I want to have good memories of playing Aleph.
You say you love ALEPH, they tell you that it is the most efficient faction, you complain about it. I think I've missed something and I don't say it with bad intentions or to have a discussion, I just don't understand your post.
Yeah, the Code One Hoplite IS nothing special. The N4 one has Total Immunity and a bunch of special rules. What's the problem? Oh no, my faction wins a bunch of the games it plays, waaaaaah.
The new units are not crazy, or super powerful, but they honestly shouldn't be. SP is the most specialised army in the game. The new units round the army more out, but without overtaking our primary strengths. Still, we've got a bunch of fun new tools to play with if we wanna pay for it. And what we did well before, we only do better now with the update to existing units.
I don't understand the complain either. If it's about Bostria's comment, it was true given Hoplite's C1 profile. It's more interesting in N4 proper. If it was about the difference in his enthusiasm - CB staff does have favourites, unfortunately it shows, just ask any PanO player. Or look up Nomad threads. But it still doesn't mean Aleph is treated unfairly, new update was pretty good for Phalanx. I also noticed lack of enthusiasm on the forums, Haqq players are much more active with discussing Bahram changes. Would be good to breath some energy into Aleph subforum as well.
I also overall distrust this data because of how high Imperial Service was ranked. I'd have to see more of their methodology and the raw data.
I was just hype-posting on the discord instead. Gushing over my pet units getting actually viable. I think the forum has generally shrunk as many has migrated their discussions to that platform.
There are quite a few very active discords for infinity now, it's definitely where the discussion is happening (along with FB), far more so than here. The 'data' has CB' attention and is presented by them, which is the only reason why people are talking about it. Such a broad glance at faction popularity expressed in this way really doesn't tell us anything about the game that matters. The units they chose to address in their balance patch tells us a lot though.
Does CB have an official discord? I think they have one for TTS. Well, it tells us about what they think.
I understand what you mean. I guess the main reason for that is good players tend to use aleph more cause fluff reasons. meanwhile agema having hidden deployment is really big.
I think SP get slightly better with the changes and I'm still excited to play them. OSS is still fine. They can make some good lists and the update didn't really impact them. Vanilla Aleph is still in a bad spot. I played them for all of ITS12 and then I abandoned them because I felt they were pretty disadvantaged against other competitive lists. Proxies are still really good, but they've lost out to power creep. After that, vanilla looses out to out factions efficiencies. This change didn't really do much to help them out. Maybe if duos in vanilla were also updated?
