Disclaimer - I'm pretty new to the game & community, so feel free to take anything I say with a grain of salt :) I was thinking about the strong bench of aggressive lieutenants PanO has access to in Vanilla - Swiss, Aquila, assorted knights, Joan, etc. Coupling that with the fact that we have a decent chain of command option now in the Bolt, it certainly seems safer to use some of those really scary attack pieces. Just messing around in army, I came up with this: PanOceania ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 8 2 SWISS GUARD HMG / Pistol, AP CCW. (2 | 68) JOAN OF ARC Lieutenant MULTI Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, DA CCW. (+1 | 50) BOLT (Chain of Command) Combi Rifle + Light Shotgun, Drop Bears / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 27) SPEC. SERGEANT (CH: TO Camouflage, Infiltration, Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 27) HEXA Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 27) BULLETEER Spitfire / Electric Pulse. (1 | 23) FUSILIER Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10) FUGAZI DRONBOT Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) WARCOR (Sixth Sense L1) Flash Pulse / Stun Pistol, Knife. (0 | 3) TECH-BEE (Remote Assistant Level 1, Specialist Operative) Flash Pulse / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 5) GROUP 2 2 NISSE MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 34) FUSILIER Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 18) 6 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army The inspiring presence from Joan here is really helpful in adding a few orders, and I feel like there's pretty decent offensive punch with the Swiss, Joan & Bulleteer. Has anybody tried list building with the Bolt CoC before? Would it even be a good idea?
I'd 100% go for Joan V2 with CoC. While you really feel the -2 ARM -1PH and lack of a decent CCW, a BS15 6-2 WIP 15 Spitfire with Multiterrain, Stealth, MA3 and CC23 is very efficient. It's basically mini Achilles, but you still can run a Swiss Guard or other high end PanO trooper to do additional heavy lifting (exactly what you're doing). AVA1 Helots and the Monstrucker just made her better than ever in Vanilla. She'd be a reason to run Vanilla and the CoC Bolt quite often if she still could get the EXP CCW as Lt. Hexa, Nisse, Bulleteer and Spec Sergeant on top feels a little bit too elite. Vanilla's biggest plus is to be able to mix and match 4+ Krakots/Auxilia FOs/Regular Minelayers for massive utility at a budget.
Not so sure about the Swiss having an LT, but certainly the principal is sound. I'd consider mobility Joan, if you want to go this route... Her cost is pretty similar, but the Spitfire's a really excellent tool for getting the most out of her stats. I'd be careful with too many Hidden Deployment units, just because both the Swiss and Joan will want to have as many Orders as possible in order to engage in combat and do their thing. Consider swapping some of the TO units for other choices, or deploy them as Camo Tokens so that their Orders are generated in your Order pool when your turn starts. Other than that, looks fun. Ninja'd by Tesla!
Thanks for the input! I think this list is definitely falling into the trap of wanting to take all the toys right off the bat! Good call on Joan 2.0 - I think the ARM 3 scared me off a bit. Are there any other aggressive LTs you would recommend? Santiago Spitfire (1 SWC)?
Joan's really going to be the queen, not just for combat capability but because of all the support and list building options she unlocks. As a general note on Vanilla, give some thought to 2x Auxilia, and 2x Acon Regular Minelayer profiles. They're cheap enough to cheerlead, but their flamethrowers/mines are really good for protecting your backline and providing general insulation against enemy attack. Pair them with Joan's Order farm, and you'll get a good defensive pool of Orders that should still leave plenty of room for big toys.
Santiago Spitfire just overlaps too much with Joan V2 to compete with her raw numeric benefits and the bliss that is Inspiring Leadership imho. Heh, right back atcha mate
