Greetings all, I was a regluar lurker and occasional poster from the old forums. After taking a hiatus from infinity due to stuff outside the game (A.K.A. a major health scare) I've decided to make a return and to kick things off I decided to re paint my Nomads. Needless to say I'm very happy with the results of my first attempt. The original colour scheme was the rather meh looking green and the new scheme is the much better looking orange scheme.
The orange seems to work out well. I hope the rest of your force turns out to be just as eye-popping.
Thanks gents I used this artwork for inspiration. I think it's from the most recent Turok game that was released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Are you painting the green to orange and black or the orange and black to green? Speaking of your green color scheme can you tell me how you accomplished it? Knowing how to do the orange and black scheme would also be appreciated. Especially the Wildcat's gun. It looks really nice.
Two more have been repainted Hellcat and Brigada. I'm changing the green to orange and black. Both of the schemes and weapons were done with games workshops paints and began with a black undercoat. The green was accomplished with firstly a solid coat of Castellan Green, then a wash of Athonian Camoshade and finally Elysian Green leaving the shading in the recesses. The orange was accomplished with a solid coat of Jokaero Orange (it will look a rather pale at first but don't worry) next is a wash of Fuegan Orange to darken it down. Finally the edges are highlighted with Fire Dragon Bright. The weapons were done by drybrushing them with Mechanicus Standard Grey, then I used zandri dust to pick out certain details, these were then finally highlighted with Ushabti Bone.
@Deathwig Thank you very much for answering my inquiry. I guess I should pick up Ushabti Bone as it has been in my cart list for awhile. The green color scheme is something I want to give a go because it really stands out from other greens I have seen. Keep going with your repainting process. The results from your pictures speak for themselves. Are you thinking of expanded your force in any way?
Your welcome @Golem2God :) once I've finished I'm looking into getting the new Szalamandra, the Beyond Icestorm box and maybe something from that crazy little place called Bakunin.
Mini number four, my Iguana TAG is done. Dispite my abysmal ability to do highlights he's turned out rather well I think.
That orange is really clean dude - i just got an iguana myself for my QK, and I'm really looking forward to painting it.
Decided to have a marathon session to get everyone completed because I don't like having base coated miniatures on my shelves. I'm much happier with how all my nomads look now.
Thanks @taylor I'm really happy with how they've all come together in the end. Here's two more I recently finished painting. The pre order exclusive N3 Bounty Hunter and the N3 Human Sphere Druze Hacker. I'm planning on getting the new Uprising book and see what I could potentially use them for.
