Hi All, Thinking about attending a tournament in about a month that is: - Team Doubles - Each player to use a single 200 point LI list - Orders and command tokens are separate to each player during gameplay - Team members are considered friendly throughout gameplay - Single data-tracker is assigned between both players in missions that require one - Classified objectives are shared between members The scenarios are as follow: - The Armoury - Show of Force - L&S Thinking about playing some Varuna for this, but not sure where to start for a single list, doubles tournament. Any suggestions on where to start, or certain things I should be staying away from? I believe that my doubles partner will be playing TAC. Any help or discussion is much appreciated
Start with a Fusilier/MSV Kamau link for board control. Would eventually take the Patsy Harris but I think it's to expensive. Zulu Cobra and Helot could be useful. Don't take ORC, too expensive for 200 points
Varuna Immediate Reaction Division ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 KAMAU HMG / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 28) KAMAU (Fireteam: Haris) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 21) MACHINIST (Varuna Div.) (CH: Mimetism, Stealth, Aquatic Terrain) Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 17) KAMAU (Multispectral Visor L2) MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 32) FUSILIER Combi Rifle + Light Grenade Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 14) FUSILIER Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10) FUSILIER Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10) FUSILIER Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10) ZULU-COBRA Lieutenant (Sensor) Combi Rifle, Jammer / Assault Pistol, Knife. (0 | 29) ZULU-COBRA Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Breaker Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 28) 4 SWC | 199 Points Open in Infinity Army
Thanks! I had looked at the Fusie+Kamau Sniper link as a starting point, but the Haris is a great mobile firebase that I didn't think of for 200. I like the list, and also have all the models. I appreciate you throwing in!
Do you get to pick your teammate, or will you be paired up randomly? Some direct templates and Close Combat ability are going to be pretty necessary for this mission lineup. That's a good list by @Ben Kenobi . I'd even consider double Sensor Jammers, since you don't need a ton of Specialists there. I typically don't regret having two. But you'll want to be sure your partner can help with some of the tools necessary to do the missions.
Hey @barakiel - I do like the option of the second Jammer. I get to pick my partner, so we're good there. My teammate will be playing TAC, so we do have some good template options. Any suggestions on that front?
I took the KHD Zulu Cobra over the second jammer cause of the Idee @barakiel mentioned in the White Noise Podcast Nr. 59 to use the Breaker Combi against hard targets. In my actual list, there is no other active turn option, cause I think the MSR will not get a good rangeband if he moves ever.
