Oooh, these are nice and interesting. I see they are quite useful in vanilla and in RTF they will be a good alternative to a taureg doc+. The AD bot is very good in terms of utility, the medjector is great for making clutch shots into higher phys units that you might not be able to reach, and the arm2 and bts3 coupled with shock immunity from regen make them suprisingly tough for LI. Only downsides i see are bs 11 and phys 11, but for 27 points theyre pretty great. Im unsure about the .5 swc yet though. Maybe that might change in RTF.
Okay, first things first, I love these guys. Great Docs, fancy Medkit, good AD troop kit. They are basically awesome in a can and I will probably play them a lot. That half SWC hurts a bit, but I'll pay it. So far I see two extremely minor downsides. 1: Nasmat A2 is ugly. And it is no Zoncat. The lack of Robo-Cat-Titties is disturbing and unpleasant. Maybe they could have been Robo-Snake-Titties? I would have taken that too. 2: The logo. I'm kinda hoping that the next book will have a passage on how some genius reformed the arabic language and changed it to read from left to right and for the letters to be written in their isolated shape. Because those are the only ways to explain their logos. Like, Haqq's logos are full of correctly written arabic (and persian) text, but then you get to Lunah and the Hakims.
Wait, hold the F up, i just re read the medjector range bands, +3 0 to 16"! 0 from 16 to 32"! Max range of 48"! Why arent any of the Haki Models holding this glorious healing sniper. Edit: Nvd some troll on FB tricked me
No, they drop at the same time from the same edge, next to each other. I lost a Tomcat Doc this way, Doc was out of LoF, Zondcat wasn't, template ARO happened.
They must deploy on the same table edge segment as the troop they are connected to, so you generally will have 12 in to work with.
Its nice and in essence what I wanted. But the Medjector and Regeneration with PH 11 are mostly for fluff and balancing reasons on there I suppose. Otherwise it would have been quite cheap. Also that Shock Immunity is neat. Right now, the Medjector is a bit of a disappointment, because there wont be many new types of equipment, and that one is very situational. It might get a bit better in RTF, if we get many high PH troops, but mostly you will be able to get your Nasmat in contact, when you cant risk the Hakim. If you are not able to get there with the Nasmat, you most probably are in the +0 Rangeband and there the Medjector can be an order sink. All in all, I think its a solid addition nonetheless and I am sad, that its only AVA 1.
Welcome to the world of AD specialists! https://infinitythetactics.com/Tomcats Has great advice for running a very similar unit. The List Composition, Deployment, and Active Turn Role sections in particular provide useful advice for running Hakims.
On a side note, I guess in this picture we might already see a future Fireteam sans Hakims. That composition would at least make sense.
That would be pretty good. Zhayedans are a bit too soft for a 5 man fireteam, but one or two mixed with some cheaper specialists...now we're talking.
Interesting Profile for sure. One thing noteworthy I that doesn't sit well with me is that everyone and their grandma gets a SMG these days. Which in this case also comes with a DTW and pretty much invalidates the other Profiles. Not very happy about that.
Amazing stats - super excited by this unit!! My immediate thoughts about medijectors are - Tarik and kaysim have ph14 to get picked up from a medjector - Kum and the twins and al djabil are all ph13... My human torpedoes suddenly feel like they have some front lines support. if I chose for them to go down instead of dogged I can actually reach them (hopefully from out of LoF). And I Love AD troops! V cool
You certainly have a point - SMG on a troop that will be deploying close to an enemy is very good value for the money. Though a shotgun ain't a bad thing, either! Naturally, the price difference is significant, and under such circumstances, SMG seems to be an obviously superior choice (cheaper & Suppressive fire-capable, Shock Ammo being just a bonus). But much depends whether there will be any other AD-capable troops in Ramah: if we are to depend on Hakims as our sole AD choice, then the Terminal Template of a Shotgun might be a great way to win an FtF and affect a number of massed targets.
Indeed. The SMG is the weapon equalivent of the Killer Hacker. Cheap, overpowered and gets absolutely sprinkled all over every conceivable profile, vastly optimising profiles, with no real drawback to speak of.
Bugs detected: Nasmat should have G:Servitor, and the Medjector should have the same range bands as the Medikit Uses: Get in after a Bashi Bazouk (so a Holo can be used as cover) Capture targets Heal Haqq rambo that advances by the side of the table (for the center we have the Tuareg XD)
Regeneration isn't something you make a plan around, but it can definitely be annoying. Since the danger he's most likely to face is someone punching a Crit past his active burst, being able to have a 55% chance to try and come back to life is decent. Good blend of support and combat capability packed into a fairly reasonable pricetag. Being able to get a Doctor someplace important without telegraphing that plan to the enemy is great as well... Sometimes an opponent won't waste that extra Order to finish off an Unconscious model if they don't think there are any Doctors around, so having a "hidden" Doctor helps increase the chance there will even be a target to heal.
One of my regular opponents hates regen. I've been able to coordinate 4 regens and got 3 successes. It makes for a very order efficient way to come back from what looks like a complete wipe out. This was the first thing I thought of when I saw these guys. Having mass regen forces your opponent to make sure to kill every unconscious model. It's also common for a model to drop unconscious behind cover, making it impossible to get the kill.
