Mostly Morats

Rasyat : Veteran1+Religious and Natural born warrior, he have stealth and eclipse grenades with PHY13 and DA CCW.

This is a little beast to countering all CC especialist and killing or hunting especific troops including LT's. and he can go drop d-charge on a classified or using on CC as a weapon.

Fraacta: Transmutation+Courage, she have better chances for shooting engages bcs that 2w. then she can go on supression fire and here the courage can work better. Also her 12WIP can works nice on hackers bonus missions on the last turn to bring her and go to push buttons.

So, if you want a DA troop on vanilla game, you can take this 2 or Ko-Dali, she are a mix of this 2 troops Protheinon with sthealth and hard CC skill to cancelling all CCW skills and wining 2 top wounds + msv2 with BS14 on 5 dices from dual assault pistol, but she isn't specialist, including a d-charges for a CC weapon and classified..

I can't compare them at the same time...

Finally, on vanilla list, the better choice for morat units are on Daturazi, Krakots, Kurgats or vanguard hackers for a cheap profile used only to put assited fire. Hungries on vanilla they are cheap orders for that irregulars but they can't go with smoke tricks, for 8pts u can go with x2 imetron for 2 regular orders, on MAF the hungries team definitely are worth it.

 

Well firstly, I think all the units in MAF are listed in Army as available for CA (as far as I can tell) so you could presumably take any if you wanted, but I think you're right that a lot of them aren't very viable outside MAF.

For a start, there's no way to play Fireteams in CA which means we'd have no way to manage units with Fury: Extremely Impetuous like the Dãturazi; at least not the way they're normally managed - by using the Fireteam.

The exception appears to be the Fireteam: Duo profile on the Suryats, which can be enabled by taking the E-Drone to the run the software, and spending a Command Token.

I thought Hungries would still work because their Frenzy is managed by the Hungries Control Device on the Oznat, but looked it up to check and find the rules explicitly say it can't be done.

Still, Krakot Renegades are only Fury: Impetuous, so you can cancel their Impetuous Order without cost, or use the Impetuous Order if you need the extra movement. And what's not to like about their profiles, apart from their alleged criminal background maybe

There must be some other ways to field the big red guys though, and it'd be nice to have our cake and eat it too - any better suggestions?

 

It's certainly viable but depending on the actual list and mission you may be handicapping yourself. You are giving up some AVA and these fireteam options:

The only thing you gain in return are the units you take from vanilla. So you just need to ask yourself if the 'spice' is worth it. And that will depend on the mission and vanilla units you choose.

Maybe taking a bunch of camo along with Morats is a good balance. The list will look entirely Morat on the tabletop and thematically plays as a Morat and Shas detachment working together.

 

I second everything that was said earlier. If you want 'mostly morat' you're better served with going full MAF and just building from there. In vanilla CA I have used:

Daturazi chainrifle for smoke throwing;
Krakots for a lot of stuff, really, but mostly area denial;
Vanguard Hacker because cheapest hacker in the army;
Rasyat for Missions where killing something on the other side of the table is important;
Yaogat MSR or Boarding Shotgun when I know I'll face a bunch of camo infiltrators;
Sogarat HMG as a secondary platform for when my Aspect bites the dust;
Zerat FO because mine is painted pink and I like her;

And those are all the MAF units my Vanilla CA will ever see. And the last three aren't even optimal picks, just stuff I enjoy using. The added flexibility of The largest fireteam pool in the game (really, double check it. Other armies can match MAF, but none has more fireteam options) is one of the biggest reasons to play full MAF, and I'd say it's way cooler than just playing Vanilla with some added MAF stuff.

OMG, i have a desire to convert an Oznat into a Rasyat now after reading this. What to use as the AD pack, hmmm... I think I purchased a Garuda awhile back for the sole purpose of making a Rasyat using it's AD pack. It might be too big, I'm sure my original plan was to use a Rodok as the base because Rodok's are awesome. But an Oznat feels more Natural Born Warrior to me. Inspiration is so fun^^

It's funny that you answer for yourself like this, if you want to focus only on Morats as a sectorial, you must learn to use the fireteams, in addition to the sectoral itself, has many configurations and although you focus on 1 single fireteam core are only 5 units that move at the same time if you want or not, you have reactive and active bonus for this, that's not bad at all, this helps you initially to optimize the orders moving the groups and leaving the other orders in reserve for the alone profiles to do coordinated orders together.

Do you want to learn how to move fireteams? You have to do in MAF: 1 core of 5, 1 haris and duos at a time in a list.That 2 list are i used for a example on the last post for a user ask how using in a tournament for the missions he asked, but now you can try for do this example im explain it.

After that, outside of your sectorial, in Onyx you have a good example when it comes to having symbiosis with other profiles such as Overdron with core of Rodoks and access to white noise with hacker plus or kerr-nau, or a duo of Suryats with noctifers or Legates/Samaritans. Perhaps in vanilla you will not get much more Morat troops out of: daturazis, krakots, kurgats and that vanguard hacker, for what they are and do, since they are cheaper and always keep the regular orders:
. secure orders.
. impetuous smokes.
. CC remarkable and cheap to commit suicide.
. suportware and easy classifieds; assisted shoot or spotligth to hvt.
. Cheapest engineers and expressly for the Avatar and entire list of remotes.

Beyond this, in some specific cases you can use Zerats supported by camouflage troops, as these are cheaper than a shaasvastii marker, but as a support or skirmish start it is a good option (profile of FO or flamethrower), the rest of profile in vanilla, there are better ones, for example: Yaogat / Makreep, they are practically the same, except 1 is Morat with ARM3 and the other has sixth sense1 / courage / automedkit and multi sniper or HMG, while the Yaogat is; Multi sniper or spitfire. As for the rest; Rodoks, Suryats or even Sogarats, in their sectorial they earn more for the options to fireteams and it is as they should be used, always with fireteams where they are squeezed 100% in the case of Sogarats depends, they are good profiles to use them in 150pts games / 200pts since you do not usually have much CAP and less heavy weapons to knock them down, but in lists of 300pts and being EC vanilla, you already have the aspects and the points that are worth of themselves, before placing another Morat that are not of the cheap, those points you eat a speculo or noctifero much better.

So, your best option to learn with MAF fireteams in their sectorial or in Onyx, just play agressive on active turn with their tricks, bonus teams, synergies and hide for the reactive turn, let the enemy comes to close to you.

A female rasyat sounds really badass, the lore for rasyats explains that it is indeed a mixed origin regiment, but mentions the word "surat". what does that mean? soldier? is it only a typo for suryat? or can zerats, oznats eg. also become rasyats if they pass the requirements?

BACKGROUND
Contact with the Combined Civilization forced some changes in the Morat Supremacy. Suddenly, it was required to have a diplomatic service, something absolutely unnecessary for the Morat before, with all foreign contact handled by the Aggression Forces. The old soldiers complained bitterly, believing diplomats were for weak and inferior races. With the creation of a diplomatic division, it was perceived the Supremacy was softening, becoming a bunch of crying cubs like the races which it had conquered, its prestige tarnished. To avoid this, the Rasyatnat Diplomatic Division was created as a new regiment of the Morat Aggression Force. This regiment, despite its youth, would be considered an elite force. Only the most dangerous, tough, vicious and xenophobic Surats could be diplomats and join the Rasyatnat. Their job was deemed to be an incursion into the heart of enemy territories to know and test their weakness through sudden attacks. Since the creation of the Diplomatic Division, the training of its members insists on aggressiveness and generation of extreme violence during any action. The Division swiftly acquired so much prestige that soon all regiments, even the most venerable ones, were competing in Sotarak to have representatives join the Supremacy’s aggressive diplomatic service. The Rasyatnat is the purest Morat philosophy applied directly: “The biggest gun always wins in any negotiation”, with diplomacy supplied in high impact bursts.

I think, whatever Morat male or female can be a Gesurat breed rank, (complete Morat as a soldier) and going promote to suboficial and other high ranks, but that position as a Gesurat rank become in to a Suryat regiments units specially or Sogarats as a high honoured promotion. But the Rasyats divison are all elite units and if the despriction says: the most nazi Gesurat promoted than the others can join in the Rasyatnat.
I want to understand too what means Surat, maybe its the short word from Ge-surat as a "soldier", that means as a regular soldier lower rank, not to be a complete soldier like says the Gesurat descriptions... but if it means, the description on Rasyat are be wrong redacted if they are called Surats as an elite division if they only can join from Gesurat promotions.
