How to Nomad Lt?

would it be legal to take a hellcat Lt, and just, never bring it in? sure you'd be down 1 order, but you'd never have to worry about going irregular... if it's legal, not sure if it is, just a rando thought as I flip through models

 

If your Lt. is not on the table whether dead, unconscious, or is some sort of Hidden Deployment (TO or AD) you go in to Loss of Lieutenant.

I don't know if it is illegal to do, but it certainly isn't a winning strategy.

 

It's legal to take one you'll just be in LoL right away lol.

 

I still can't comprehend why the Hellcat Lt is even an option. If the only way to not be in LoL on turn 1 is to deploy it as a normal troop then why would you take it?

 

Also, It’s not legal in a mission without LOL.

(Well Hellcat Lt is legal, they just need to be deployed during the deployment phase).

 

Scenario option. @daboarder wrote an airborne assault scenario where your AD troops continued to provide orders even if they weren’t on the table and Airborne Lts didn’t cause LOL.

I seriously considered running CJC with 4 Tomcats and 5 Hellcats with nothing on the table, but IIRC the scoring was turn based to mitigate against that strategy and you didn’t know if you were going to be the attacker or defender until after the Lt roll.

But, running a Hellcat Lt in that mission would have been better than running an Alg Lt and maybe losing it to a bad dropship scatter (the attacker deployed non-AD troops via dropship).

Hellcat Lt. can't catch a break even in a mission basically designed for it lmao.

 

Hellcat Lt. is only good for a Mission with Zero-G in effect.

 

Wildcat is still better.

Intruder is more expensive and better. Wildcat is cheaper can better.

 

Just roll with interventor LT and get 2 interventors with the same profile(hacking device + panda) one LT one normal one, it is impossible to figure out which one is which and thanks to cybermask they are super hard targets

 

The MB with BSG makes an alternative - WIP 14 and most people dont expect it to the the LT profile as they are used to the Multi Rifle+LFT being the LT. Bonus points for bringing a Maoiras, Interventor and a few other possibly LT choices as well.
And as a bonus point he is pretty tough too.

I genuinely think that Securitate have always supposed to be the default Nomad Vanilla LT option, hence why they were in the old starter, they just never got used because for a long time they've been overpriced and crap. When the new box comes out and we get some new profiles, I'm very hopeful for a 16-17pt 0 SWC LT option myself, that'd be so incredibly useful for Vanilla.
