Guys, you totally forgot about Mary-Kate and Ashley "Twinrocks". You know, those aka "Hospitalier knights the floor is lava" type ;)
The new profiles rock hard, but the sectorial as a whole looks a bit brittle. One strong hit and it's gonna drop.
Information regarding uprising/JSA ary pack : I ordered it on CB site and a DHL package was send on Saturday. Pre-order are on their way
Got my DHL notification from them this morning, judging by previous orders it should be in my grubby mitts within 6 days.
It actually worked out cheaper for me direct due to the free international shipping offer saving me about US$80 compared to most USAian sellers.
Comment regarding the Uprising : the oniwaban blister is gone from the official store. Does someone know if it's forever gone or only temporary ?
Like, some times, they want sold a lot uprising + mini and then will made same body with other hands So, don´t worry about
I'm not sure where to post it but I guess this topic will do. I'm sorry for a long rant. Yesterday I got my Uprising parcel and I must say I'm really upset about this book. I'm sorry but someone has to say it. I'm still reading the fluff but I can tell you that the true victims of Japanese uprising are leading and word spacing (or justification in general). Especially leading was badly hurt. C'mon guys, you can park a Jotum between those lines and there is still space to squeeze a crabbot. Whoever thought the cube patterns and those opaque broken hexes or arrows (?) under the quotations are terrific, should be sentenced to do only pizza flayers for the rest of his days. Don't get me even started about those black corners page numbers or those nameplates at the top. There is so much going on every page I'm not able to read more than few paragraphs at once, as my eyes start to hurt. Also I'm getting a really strong impression no one was proofreading this as the amount of errors is perplexing (OK, that's nothing new in case of CB's books but still). As a side note, I hoped for more new illustrations but those are handful. Also those event 3D maps looks so 90's. I really like reading and rereading fluff books but I think this will be the first case when I'll be shelving this book to collect dust or selling it once I'm done with it. I just find most of the pages in Uprising hideous. I can only hope this is not the new direction for all future publications. My former boss used to often tell us "less is more". I think that quote that should be printed and nailed behind every screen of the graphic design team. I'm must say no amount of limited edition miniatures will lure me to preorder a book in the future. I can only hope things will get better in time...
If you’re going to complain about errors in the book, you should proof your own post. That said, I appreciate the insight. I’ve been hesitant to order the book because of your exact complaints.
i dont think it is the same league to have mistakes in a forum post, which is the same as not many of us speak grammatically perfect english or any other language for that matter when talking, while it does represent your language skills and thoroughness, no one is expected to pay to read or hear my ramblings, whereas it would be the least to be expected of a written product that is sold commercially to be proofread
Gregg is a little bit more sensitive to editing because it's part of his job. He was a great help when I was writing my tactica. I think his comment was supposed to be a little tongue in cheek, but tone and inflection don't translate on the internet. That said, that's disappointing to hear. I didn't immediately jump at the preorder but I was planning on getting a book. I'd love to hear a second take because now I'm a bit hesitant
Since I'm not a native speaker I'm fully aware I make mistakes, sound weird or I don't make much sense (I try my best so bear with me) but as @Gwaernydd pointed I'm not charging anyone for reading my posts. If I did, I would definitely hire a translator, a proofreader and a graphic designer with knowledge about book publishing (or an art director who's not messing with his layouts :P). My point is I really think this book has some legibility issues. I'm not writing this out of spite or to discourage someone from buying this book. I really hope CB will spend more time working on the next publications for the sake of all of us. I'll gladly pay for a next book where I won't have to struggle to read the text ;)
I think CB could make good use of some proof readers. Anyone remember a ITS PDF that has no errors in it? Take a look at the new CBLs for YJ - List A has a Celstial Guard with MSR for 21 pts. and 0,5 SWC. When you do the math, it turns out to be hacker. How can they even get this mixed up? Please CB - be more carful when releasing. Especially when this things costs money! Now I am a bit scary to read my book, when it arrives. Errors in a 40,- € book tend to annoy me very quickly.
