From the rules: "The active Character must move to a new Space if the Disengage Roll is a success." If my active Character get displaced out of the "original" space, is he forced to move anyway or is it enough to fulfill the must?
If your active Character gets a Displacement, he doesn't have to Disengage. Disengage is only meant for using a Movement Point. :3
Please give an example. When I review the cards of the 12 current characters I do not find any of them that allow for the displacement of the enemy moving character when defending a disengage roll. Hexxer, 8ball and Gata could conceivable displace themselves first (as switches go first) to block an anticipated move. They would never be absolutely certain of their strategy as the moving character does not need to declare their intended move only that they want to disengage.
From the Wiki: :3 (Edit: @Roadrunner7431 For example: enemy hEXx3r Displaces herself due to her general change and get adjacent to your Character, after that Displacement, you use 8-Ball's Barrel Through. This second displacement doesn't call for a Disengage)
I think you missed Roadrunner's point - the active Character is disengaging, and gets Displaced (somehow) during that Disengage Roll. Does the Character still have to Move?
Damiel, I think tox is thinking about the consequences of a face-to-face roll when a character wants to spend one movement point to leave a space adjacent to an enemy character. However I may be mistaken. I have asked tox to clarify.
This ^ Me troglo-user with limited brain capacity... I still don't know i could have submitted a so confusing Q... >_< Example... Hexxer try to Disengage form near Musashi. She win the roll and get to activate his generic switch to Displace herself. She Displace at the Switch Step and then? Is she forced to move again?
Yes - but she isn’t forced to displace herself - so, if for some reason you need to move exactly that one hex - don’t displace yourself.
It would work like this: Declare disengage: Active Player Rolls Agility, Opponent Rolls Brawn Switches step: Any switches would trigger here, e.g. Hexx3r displacing herself or the Character that rolled brawn could (if applicable) switch to displace the disengaging model. After switches are resolved, If the disengaging model still has an unblocked success, it then MUST move to a new space.
I am pointing out that this is not applicable for the any of the 12 characters that we have at the current time.
Because of the results on dice? You can always add dice playing Tactics... (Almost) Everything is possible in Aristeia!
No because no character has a switch that allows shifting opponents as general switch. There is no way to do it on a disengage.
Yup, but I wanted to make sure it was included for future reference. Eventually if a character has switch to displace as a reaction the question will come up and hopefully that person will be able to find an easy answer.
Yes. Displacement is explicitly not Movement, and you must Move if you succeed at a Disengage. Seems pretty cut-and-dry to me.
