Does anyone have photo of the old asawira spitfire next to the new one. I saw the blister today and the model is a LOT beefier than the old one. I knew it was bigger but it looks like it's the size of Tarik on a 30mm base. I'm curious how they compare side by side. If when a second profile comes out I may grab it, but for now a duo will be a little weird.

I have both of the old models. I am ordering a new blister, which should be here in a week or two. If necessary, I'll gladly put up some pictures.

I should be able to get the old Asawira, Janissaries, and al faced alongside the new model. Tarik too, if you want. I've ordered the piece from Europe, and it usually takes awhile, so I'll keep you posted.

I can take a picture tonight. The new Asawira is definitely smaller than Tarik. Hes about the size of the modern Janissary. this makes him bigger than the old Spitfire Asa as well. The old one is thinner, and slightly shorter.

Well, the original 2ed / HS Asawiras were thin and small-framed even for the day's standards.
By post-HSN3 standards... well... but I still plan to have a full AVA of the oldies :P (I have to work on the Shotgun one).

Please show us the final product for your shotgun conversion! I was thinking of making the new one carry a shotgun...

I shall certainly do, once I have it assembled and primed.

But it is a very rudimentary conversion - take the 2ed AP Rifle Asawira, chop off the rifle just in front of the trigger guard, replace it with equivalent part of a BSG (salvaged from a converted Govad no-longer-a-hacker, who got a Rifle in its stead).

I cropped the photos to touch their base, then made all the images the same width, the 40mm bases are 1.6 times the size of the 25mm.

I think if the new Asawira (#3) was a little less shy he would be almost as big as Tarik. The crunched pose makes him look smaller. Even his legs are bent making him shorter. I think he's in Asawira stealth mode trying to sneak around. In a more confident pose he would be bigger than the Janisairy (#4).

As promised - three of my four Asawira - left to right, Doc, Shotgun and AP Rifleman:

Now, the Rifleman was originally a Doc (back in 2ed Asawira doc had to have an AP Rifle, and adding a Medkit was easier on the sword arm. I had to amend it in N3, so rather than reattach his sword - which is rather thin and flimsy - I gave him a shorter blade).

A pity CB released only two sculpts of the ol' Asawira (and I was unlucky fishing on the used mini market: two extra Riflemen were easier to obtain than a single extra Spitfire).
