Bostria just announced Tunguska as the next Sectorial at AdeptiCon, and Yu Jing will see Invincible profiles "sometime later this year".
After Gencon. What a fucking joke. We'll finally see some kind of replacement for getting fucked around somewhere about christmas. CB might make nice models but they couldn't fucking organise their way out of a wet paper bag if they tried. They have fucking terrible planning and product management. Now we just need to sit back and spend the next 8 months watching the fanboy defense team come and excuse this giant dumpster fire.
Well, thats a shame, but no need to rant. Maybe its even good news. This way I can be happy for the new JSA models now and be happy for the new IA models later!
It's just incredible how unbelievably apologetic of CB fanbois can be, even when faced with the cold facts. The good news is if don't have to spend a single dime on Infinity for at least a year, and that's if i cba to come back to this joke of a company
I'm gonna take a hard pass on the campaign. Providing me with some shitty closed battle lists to compete with in replacement is a fucking joke.
There are still several opportunities this year for them to announce IA, and yes, I have (especially in light of the weeks long tantrum) little to no sympathy at this point. You’ll get more options for your little metal army men, but on CB’s timeline, not yours.
Yeah I'm very dissapointed by how this is being handled. I do like the support pack, they're very nice and much needed sculpts. I'll spend the rest of the year painting up the figures I already own, and I might wait till Invincible Army in December before I make any other purchases. It's so disturbing to see how many players are totally blind to the fact that Corvus Belli is a business and not their best friend. People have spent a lot money on this game and the least they expect is for the company to acknowledge their concerns.
I saw the stats they were showing and I was rather surprised at how Zhanshi and Celestial Guard were used by far more often in vanilla Yu Jing than Keisotsu (among other things like Zhanying used more than the Weibing Remote, How often Knauf was used, and Karakuri barely being used at all). So, if the numbers are right it does seem like there's a discrepancy between what people thought was taken and the stats on what was. Plus We can have hopes for semi surprising new unit (like Kriza Boracs) or a small unit profile rework (like the Kamau). I know "hope is the first step on the road to disappointment" but dang it, I can dream!
Zhanshi are in the starter and CG are required to run Kuang Shi. I would've been running Keisotsu hacker for throwing assisted fire on bots, but since I only had CG box, I relied on the more expensive one. Corvus probably made up their mind about JSA split when they designed Red Veil and Beyond - only 1 japanese miniature in those secured the Yu Jing identity for newcomers.
I understand the Celestial Guard because of either a cheap WIP14 Lt. or Kuang Shi controller but the Zhanying just baffles me.. I don’t see their appeal at all, unless you’re using them with Hsien in a Harris.
Zhanshi also Lt. for 0 Swc, unlike the Japanese traitors who need 2 swc and CG are AVA 2, so they are the go to for easy to hide Lt. Not sure about the Zhanying tho, maybe it's for the hacker with D-charges?
I think there must be some attention to the language, if you are disappointed you can do it without been vulgar right? What is your problem with closed battle lists anyway? Svalarheima got them and all were accusing CB for favouritism to PanO now you get them and it seems IS may be coming sooner than Svalarheima. The only thing that surprised me in the usage shown is how low Raiden is, I was expecting him twice as much.
PanO has 3 sectorials, probably 4 this year. Yu Jing has a single sectorial, probably 1 this year. And you say IA is coming before Svalarheima, oh my god how lucky we are having our second sectorial before PanO gets its FIFTH. I'll have CB in my prayers every night for this. Seriously, try to come up with better arguments because this blatant fanboyism is getting silly. I mean no disrespect because i do respect you as a poster but, please, read what you have just written, now put it in a context where players have been told "now you hace space for a new sectorial" and then laughed at their face.
The one thing that'll take the edge off, Svalarheima and White banner are a package deal, so when PanO has 5 YuJing will have 3, and this will in all likelihood be before the tohaa have one or MRRF and ShasvastiI are brought up to N3 standard... Pano will still have 5 Ariadna will have 3 and MRRF, depending on the timing CA could have 2 or 3 plus Shasvastii, Nomads will have 3 Aleph should have 2... Its crap right now but it will normalise very soon...
So basically, I'm hearing you say "Just tear PanO in half and toss the still-bleeding remnants of both halves back into the game as seperate entities down the road, and things will roughly even out between the different factions." I don't strictly speaking disagree. But I do think that'd be a possibly more unpopular move than the present nonsense.
Alright, I think YJ fans have been more than patient at this point. We've waited, we've seen. It is obvious that CB not only didn't expect this negative response, but were completely unprepared for it. At least in the past, they've had replacements (or at least new things) ready to go when delivering bad news. Exrah were dumped and N3 dropped with new units in CA to fill out lost roles and keep the list up to speed. Merovingians were replaced by USAriadna and Shas by Onyx when Human Sphere dropped without replacements for the get-you-buy lists (cold comfort to those waiting on those particular sectorials, but at least there was some contingency in place). JSA leave Yu Jing and... we can expect some kind of lazy soup list CBL for the campaign (why the hell even wait to drop it, it isn't like CBLs contain new and interesting profiles for the most part. Just a mishmash of units and a bunch of filler.) and maybe one or two Invincible profiles near the end of the year (indicating that the Invincible sectorial isn't one of the releases for 2018). The JSA are already swapped out, the Uprising changes are current, we're left swinging in the breeze with a massively cut down vanilla list and a single sectorial. Instead of finding out well in advance and getting a fix when it became relevant, the change occured and we now have to wait months for something to rectify the loss (and that something is barely anything compared to how things like this have previously gone). This is lazy and sloppy even by previous standards they set and them dragging their heals on doing literally the least they could do (a CBL and a couple of profiles) for a sectorial that they said was basically done years ago is just a bridge too far for me. Hell, they couldn't even be arsed to show us cool upcoming releases, just a couple of crappy specialists no one bothered taking because the Tokusetsu used to be in our list. So just a couple of barely needed resculpts, a CBL that won't make one iota of difference in the campaign, and a vague promise of some extra profiles near the end of the year. If this was the best they could do, they need to try harder. If they still have something up there sleeve, the time to show it was now. So I can only imagine this is the best we can expect. CB said this year was about getting people to buy new things, a year to reinvigorate a game that has been coasting on remakes and reworks of old material since the edition dropped four years ago. But if what they've shown me so far is what I can expect the rest of the year to be like, they've only convinced me that my money is better spent elsewhere. Again, not frothing mad or furious, not tossing my toys out of the pram are spitting bloody invectives at the uncaring sky. Just sitting here, kind of confused and disappointed that a year I was so excited for has turned out to be such a bloody dud thus far. We waited to see if the Uprising would be the massive loss. Folks said it might not be so bad. The worst occured and we lost everything but the Ninja. The pessimists were right. People said wait and see, CB would drop a blog explaining the future for Yu Jing and we were sure to get a bone tossed our way. The blog post was ad copy for the Uprising book and explained nothing relevant to the situation. The pessimists were right. Folks said that Adepticon was a surefire chance for CB to wow us and restore faith, many even thought it would be the reveal of the IA itself. It culminated for Yu Jing in the announcement of a CBL months from now, a couple of vaguely disappointing and unexciting resculpts, and the possibility that we may see one or two profiles (not a whole sectorial) by the end of the year. The pessimists were right. Unless this is some kind of elaborate "gotcha" on CB's part, I think this being a hard year for Yu Jing was probably the only accurate and forthright thing that CB have let slip about this entire situation since the first leaks emerged. I hold out no hope of exciting news and I think I'm done waiting and seeing for now. There is only so much slack I'm willing to give, and at this point it is pretty clear this situation has been bollocks'd up and CB had no clear plan in place before we voiced our concerns.
