My issue with Claire is as an Optimate, I could see her being released as a pack with Johnny and Kyra. I probably will continue to use Avicenna as her proxy.

If she is a separate miniature...maybe

Thats fair, but I do desperately miss Kasyem Beg, or as my old game group knew him Kaysem Big D***. Cause his panzerfaust has screwed over so many opponents plans through pure raw dogged chaos. Alright, thats enough from me.

If they just added the Nazarova's to Dashat, you pretty much have a new Haqq biker faction. They already get Kum, 112, and MBH. I think it's the most bikes of any faction. They could also add one of the flyers and then bring back a new version of the Halqa. For those that don't remember them, they were essentially Ghulam with a Forward Deploy skill.

I remember them, i exclusively ran 2 to 4 Halqa FOs each game and they were always MVP

I would like CB to also bring back and update Halqa. With the N5 design paradigm, you could make them quite interesting. Forward deploying link teams are cool.

I also think that they, Ghulam, and Naffatûn need to me made more individualy distinctive. There is some weird pricing in Ghulams versus Naffatûn. How is a light shotgun is worth grenades, a PS 6 light Flamethrower, and +3 BTS?

So will we see some more of the book? I am grateful for the available previews, but I want to know more.

We still have yet to see the Yaksha and any of the Optimates other than Max. I think you are right that Clair, Johnny, and Kyra will be a box. Then Racer X and his two bots. The Spec Ops seems to have pushed them back. After those, OSS will have at least one of everything.

Good review. Disappointed about the painting guide and wished the Haqqislam section was bigger. But I love the art and always look forward to new lore.

Wished he showed what Claire Lazhari and Johnny Kao looked liked...

I'm neutral about the painting guide as I don't use them.
I understand why it's here (this is about the hobby) but, to me, this is the kind of content that could be put out of a lorebook in a more appropriate format (dedicated painting book, hight resolution painting articles on the site etc.).

I have a clear opinion: I painting guide should not be in a 60;- € lore book and eating up space for nothing. Painting guide in starter booklet, on website or in a separate book - fine. But I don´t want to pay for a random painting guide inside an expansive book that give me no value.

I have a clear opinion of my own, too.

I no longer buy CB books.
For a practical reason: I read such a book once, and then maybe - maybe! - I check up specific details of the fluff once every few months.
The rest of the time said book (which wasn't cheap!) is sitting on my shelf and occupying space.

And then a new edition comes up, and makes my entire collection of books obsolete.
I had the entire N2, and N3 collections. Starting N4, they became essentially, dead weight.
I sold them. I haven't bought any of the N4 or N5 books.

Don't get me wrong - I'd still love to read the fluff in them, but I do not consider it worth paying the money CB asks for these.
I still do buy miniatures - but I do have repeated fun playing these (and painting these before I consider them fit to show up on the table). Wouldn't have such fun with the books.

I'd like to see the Military Orders and Treitok spec ops get models (even if there's already an Indigo model). Look forward to seeing more Hatail too.

For me, I've been told here in the UK the only way to get Rumbler is with a copy of the book - I hate gatekeeping, especially when it's a book with such poor pictures for the painting tutorial. Maybe there will be some Black Friday deals this year and I can get an order in direct with CB for them. Still waiting on my Ruby too. This year has not been a good year for gatekept products (from different companies) and the ole immediate 'sold-out' 'greyed-out' add to cart button has just been a constant thing.

That is not a redesign I was expecting for Shakti. Its another CB example of "figure that should avoid CC like the plague that is modeled like it can fight in CC..."

But other than that, the models look excellent.

Poses of the two troops are nice (the HMG needs a bigger bag packs for ammo).
Shakti channeling her inner Sasuke is... something (she has to emphasize the KILLER in Killer Hacking device)
I don't see the reason to take these new sculpts over the previous ones thought (they exchanged their jacket for trousers).
