I have beta tested since the 90s and testing this game was a fun start.Unfortunately the developers completely changed it all on launch. Deterministic combat took over. Think of it as playing Infinity without dice. Suddenly the learning curve went to extreme heights and just putting your team in the zone became problematic if the other team had some to push you out. Hexxer was of course happy. The current report is the game is a small niche game that discourages casual play and requires you to learn every aristo in combination. It is dropping in members. I am currently slowly working through this, to see if any thing can be salvaged. Aristeia on table top is shockingly superior especially for tournament play.
My second report. Here are some stats. and I believe the beta tests where the game was still emulating Aristeia to be the difference between beta and now: The game went through multiple closed betas/playtests (peaks in the playtest version reached ~94–96 concurrent in mid-2024). At full launch it included a campaign, ranked PvP, multiple maps/zones, 12 heroes, and launch DLCs. The developer continues post-launch updates and community tournaments with cash prizes. Overall launch performance was modest: solid review score for a small indie tactics game, but low concurrent players and sales volume typical of a niche title rather than a breakout hit. Numbers remain low weeks after launch. Takeaway: At launch (10 September 2026), Hexadome Tactics peaked at 135 concurrent players on Steam. Today (late September 2026), it averages ~28 players, with 12–16 concurrent at any given moment. The game has declined sharply (~80% drop) from launch peak but maintains a small, stable core audience. --- Launch vs. Current Concurrency (Verified Stats) Launch Day – 10 Sept 2026 • All‑time peak: 135 concurrent players steamranker.com • Reviews: 80–81% positive (147 ratings) steamranker.com • Price: $19.99 USD (10% launch discount) steamranker.com Current (26–30 Sept 2026) • Playing right now: 12 players steamranker.com • 24h peak: 16 players steamranker.com • 7‑day peak: 35 players steamranker.com • Monthly average: 28 players steamranker.com Playtest History (2025–2026) Useful for context: • All‑time playtest peak: 42 players Tracker Network • Typical playtest concurrency: 13–25 players Tracker Network --- Decline Summary From launch peak 135 → current 12–16 concurrent: • ~88% drop from launch peak • ~50% drop from early‑month average (28 → ~14) • Twitch viewership also down (1–8 viewers typical) steamranker.com
