So ignoring that ISS lost a troop. Lets focus on the additions. vYu Jing, IA, and WB gained Johnny Kao and vYJ gained also Racerbots. Racerbots, love em. Maybe we see figures someday but I can't help but feel they are the new TAG Pilot or RemRacer. You get rules for it but never see it. Johnny Kao. Right now all i can see the cost for him. That's a bit much in an already expensive army. In IA he can't join any fireteams like Kokram can. He has ok weapons. But he's essentially an un-hackable heavy, a specialist, and veteran character. But in WB he's a wildcard. This can be great. I'm already thinking of him in a haris with Liang kai and Shaolin.
Longwang gained an AP HMG. I think the Mk12 profile got reduced by a couple of points? Zhanying profiles got cheaper too. Not sure what changes they made to Jujak and Taisheng. I've never used them before.
Ah, I wish there's a changelog of what exactly got changed, rather than just "x, y, z troopers were updated".
Thanks for the link! Looks like Father Sforza got changed and I didn't even notice. He lost holomask which is too bad because I made a 5-Sun Tze joke list (Sun Tze, Sforza, Taowu) and didn't get to try it. Oh well.
With the release of OSS we gained Johnny Kao. He's a wildcard in vYJ, White Banner. No fireteam in IA. Not available in ISS. He seems great. A non-hackable MI with Vit2 and ARM3 and Mim-3. Fantastic ENG. Great weapons with plasma carbine or multi-rifle but with an X-Visor to make the over 16” a little better. Even a plasma turret available! Drawback is he’s expensive in expensive armies. I think he’s not expensive for all that he brings. I think he has an advantage in White Banner by being a wildcard. But it’s not bad in vanilla. He has great weapons, but he’s not meant for being a shooter so gaining a +1 SD is nice but not his true advantage. I think the synergy he has is being able to fix things in the team, like a Dokkaebi. In vanilla he can duo with one. He can also duo with a Gujia or Blue Wolf! But again, we come to an expense problem. But being able to re-roll ENG on your manned TAG might be worth it. Even with gizmo kit it’s +1B, and if you have TAG Pilot it’s a +1 to the PH. Has anyone used him yet?
No. I think he is there for Plasma. Not realy tempting. Even though he is the better engineer compared to Chung-Hee. Better bc he has no malus on the RR and better surving (mime and +1 Vit, more ARM) for 9 pts (which is another order). His firepower is also better bc of plasma. BS13 vs BS12 +1 B. I would like to see a YJ unique troop (even a char if it has to be) brings plasma to the show, not an Aleph loan. So in the end, he brings plasma. I do not think, that I miss him, when he is gone again. If a mini is available I will play him in Aleph and maybe one or two times in YJ. Thats it.
Luna got +1SD Thats huge. Freaking amazing and makes her one of the best ARO pieces in the game for her price. I have used her twice now and she has absorbed orders or just straight up murdered. Its worth noting triangulated fire is better in N5.
lol my first use of her new +1 SD was a disaster. I tried to do surprise shot on a Gwailo forgetting it had Albedo -6. Yeah he won the ftf lol. But wouldn't have if not for that.
