I’d still like to see additions like I said in the OP. But I also think they could do exiting troops with unique profiles. For example, Druze have a SO version of Saito Togan. Some they could do: Regular versions of Irregular troops. Specialists on troops that don’t normally have a specialist. The same for Lt. Examples: Special Operative Bounty Hunters in Dashat. Lt. Taowu in Druze. Diayokai, Tanko in Ikari. Lt. Ashcroft, Saforza in Dashat. Regular Hunzakut in Druze, Yuan Yuan in Ikari, etc. Another thing is better fireteams. I think Druze should also be wildcards as well as their own fireteam. On other topics, I think the only NA2 force that was blatant about putting your two armies together was White Company. Druze is mostly actual mercenaries. Starco is 80% Nomads. Ikari is mostly JSA. Dashat is mostly haqqislam.
I also use my old Celestials as Brawlers - especialy the sniper and the combi-version (a rifle with light shoutgun is a combi rifle, or not?). I have the two lim ed Brawlers but I do not mix them. And I do not like the SWC box., I like that idea, Fluffwise I do not see why Saito is only SO in DBS ;-) I would like to see a SO ABH or a LT in Dashat also Regular Hunzas in DBS sound nice. There is a lot of pontial. I still would like to see.a special troop type for each NA2,.
There's a lot of reasoning you can use for these. Like Saito is just more invested in working for the Druze. He's trusts other mercs more than governments and willing to do more. The others just work more within merc companies than they do with the other factions. They know their roles and what to do.
I mean SO is someone who can handle objectives - iE can handle consoles has basic understanding of antannas etc. I doubt that someone say: okay I fight for everyone who pays the right sum, but only for my Druze pals I press some buttons as well :-)
I guess it has no fluff-wise explaination, as (fluff-wise) it seems to make zero sense. I wouldn't look for one, then. I have a feeling it is either a planned advantage for the Druze, or an leftover artifact of a previous edition (I don't remeber if he had SO profile in other armies during N4).
It's not like Saito is the only one. There's others with different weapons as well. Background-worthy or not, it's something they can do to NA2 without making all new troops just for them.
