So gotta a Q that might be advisable to clear in the next FAQ, its slightly a corner case, but if an irregular trooper dies or Nulls before their order is expended, can you still convert it? Or does removal of the Model, remove the order? Rules say the irregular order is placed with the model that generated it, which seems to logically flow that the order would be lost if the model was removed from the table, but it is unstated. The question came up and went round and round, and no one seems to have a solid answer. Conversely if the model is only Null state the order is still accessible except when the model is isolated, but that also supports model gone, order gone argument. Any input from the mothership?
Order tokens are generated in the Tactical phase and are removed in these two explicitly stated scenarios: the order is spent to activate a trooper or during the States phase. Entering dead state does not remove order tokens in that turn, only in subsequent turns. This is similar to an NCO wanting to use a dead Lieutenant's order; the order is generated, and neither null nor dead states cause the removal of the order tokens, therefore the NCO can spend the already generated Lieutenant order. Same thing for dead irregular troopers and command tokens.
