I'll say this about the size of the helmets are actually closer to real. Previously they might as well be wearing ski masks. Just look at guys wearing motorcycle helmets or fighter pilots. Of course their head is bigger with a helmet on. The thing that's too big is the SMG. That should be something that be shot in one hand. It would make more sense if it's the Thunderbolt we have yet to see.
I have to strongly disagree. Realistically, you'd want two hands on the gun and a buttstock if you want to shoot it accurately with automatic fire. Even if it is a pistol or sub-intermediate (PDW) caliber. Sure, if the shooter is strong enough, he might fire it one-handed, but that is not the point, as the accuracy will go to hell anyway. Perhaps if the shooter warst a HI armor. Or it is installed on a TAG. Albeit, true, the guns on these models seem a bit oversized, as if they were fed with intermediate cartrige and, dare I say, from quad-stack magazines. Both of which aren't exactly unknown IRL. Even on guns that do the job of SMGs / PDWs, despite technically being neither. Here, have a look: The gun here is H&K MP5 in 9mmPara caliber, a classic (I'd even risk calling it a benchmark) SMG in favor of many units that still use SMGs (since many have switched to intermediate-caliber automatic rifles or their more compacyt, carbine variants - that's a matter for another discussion). The variant here is equipped with a telescopic buttstock (fully deployed) and no sound supressor (which would make it even longer). As you can see, neither of the operators who are ready to shoot is even trying to fire it one-handed. And we don't even know whether the YJ SMG is using pistol-caliber ammunition - judging by the firepower, equal to contemporary mainline infantry weapons (same PS 7 as Combirifle, same Burst - just shorter effective range) I'd guess it is possibly using the same ammunition as Combi, if in a more compact, slightly lighter weapon - something akin to AKSU-74 and its derivatives...
I agree about the using two hands. I'm saying that it should be much smaller than it is. But then all of the guns in Infinity are oversized. Not just this SMG. On the plus side, it's makes me feel better when using as a proxy for a Thunderbolt or combi. The helmets they are wearing however are half helmet (covering the top) and then masks. They are not going to look like they have huge heads. But a man with a fully enclosed helmet with a lot of tech built in is going to look big.
Sure, the Bao helmets are more realistic sized. For me, that's a departure from their previous design of unrealistically small helmets and that looks jarring. With padded armour on body, arm, and shoulders the helmet shouldn't look so big by comparison. That cyber ninja cosplay is a good example. The Bao helmets look big even with their body armor. Anyway, I am used to the look now, and I will be getting the set because the the Kanren model is just too cool.
I also think that the SMG of the Vanguard ist too big. You can clearly see that, when comparing to a modern sculpts Combi Rifle. I still think, that is some kind of scale error that slipped through the QS. The RL H&K in the picture are tiny compard to that thing.
I have no idea why some say ISS has little firepower. We have so much SWC1 weapons and then and 0 weapons like Thunderbolts. It was fun. I played it yesterday for Provisions. Unfortunately my opponent got two Cadmus through and decimated my Bao and Bounty hunters. But my specialist did well. I lost but it was very close. Edit: something to add that was fun! One of my BH snipers rolled an HMG on his booty! I might take that haris a lot. those two BH are cheap. Sure it's a regular sniper rifle but it's still long range and PS5.
