As we all know, the plural of anecdote is data and I've been having a bad time repairing yujing TAGs. I think it's time to un-nerf manned TAGs and allow command point expenditure for rerolls on engineer rolls for them. TAGs are just too expensive to be handicapped like this and I doubt the cost variance of the TAGs incorporates this extra perk to being remote presence. Thank you for coming to my TAG talk.

I don't know if sarcasm ... but Um, no.

The plural of anecdote is NOT data.

The problem is that manned TAGs had specialists as pilots since ITS9 TagLine, but the dismount option was removed in N5, with the only compensation being TAG pilots as deployable, regular troops instead.

TAGs with a Pilot don't get rerrolls because the pilot, as part of the unit, may have suffered wounds too. Now, I have been on the opinion that manned TAGs should either be inmunne or highly resistant to POS attacks (with a free Reset every activation or something like that), since the pilot is inside the machine instead of half a planet away.

Also, all STR units can be repaired with a Gizmokit, and those give rerrolls to no one. I mention this because engineers tend to be limited in AVA, specially in YJ (where Invincible may have the highest possible amount of engineers... but cost is the limiting factor here).

Reads like sarcasm to me, but I would argue seriously that the time when TAGs got Remote Presence for free is by far past it's best before date.

Buff the manned TAGs with something minor like immune to POS or slap a minor fee of a few points on the RemPres TAGs. Not huge, but remote presence is a significant improvement to have for free.

Yes, that first bit was sarcasm, but the rest still stands.
Tagline was ITS8 and I thought the rem-pres tags were given the crab bots at the same time the TAG pilots were made specialists.

If we're using fluff to justify these things, it's just as likely that the pilot is uninjured and can assist the engineer, so rather they should get even more of a buff. Back when pilots could dismount, they were always unwounded regardless of the damage the TAG suffered, so we can assume the pilot compartment is very well protected.

Possible, I won't be checking the exact ITS ^^. The crabbots were one kind of ancillary unit given to remote presence TAGs, yeah, but was inferior to manned TAG pilots, since the pilots had either better WIP, or were a specific specialist (KHD, doctor, etc...) or carried better weapons... Now the ancillary unit is present for all TAGs so yeah, kinda meh for the manned TAGs.

This is not correct, they always worked like the Anaconda or the Iguana, excess wounds would pass to the pilot.
