Just wanting to get something going here. Please add your own insights! This is for all YJ fireteams.

My first subject is using the Pheasant in IS and vYJ.

Note: I never count on the Chain of Command so I don't see this as hurting my CoC guy. To me it's a "nice to have".

The thing that makes him interesting to me, as far as fireteams go, is his Strategic Deployment skill. It can only be used if he is a part of a fire team. In vYJ he can duo and in IS it can be in several teams.

    In general Yu Jing:

There are many great troops that can benefit from deploying +4”. The duo doesn’t even need to last. You can just gain the benefit of the deployment and then they can part ways.

Here’s a few that I think are fantastic combos to take advantage of:

Pheasant + Blue Wolf or Guijia. What other faction gets to have Forward Deployed TAGs? They can start, or close to start, the game in +3 range. If you take the hacker Pheasant, it can give some hacking defense. If you take the Madtrap one you can deploy a MT before the TAG moves up.

Pheasant + Su Jian. Something fast is even faster! I don’t think there’s much I need to say on this.

Pheasant + Hulang FTO. Particularly the FTO with Disco Ball. At least a little FD for the Hulang FTO and makes it a bit easier to get the DB into +3 range.

Pheasant Doctor + Shang Ji/Mowang/Zuyong. I think you can see the advantage of having your own doctor close by to bring you back if needed. Also, letting you start in good range.

Pheasant Hacker + Shang Ji Tinbot. While maybe not as good as a Dokkaebi, the hacker is not bad and again gives the extra deployment. Also the Dokkaebi can’t be with a Shang Ji.

Pheasant + Shaolin. A nice “if you happen to have”. If you have one of each you can possibly do this just to give the Shaolin FD +4” deployment but the Shaolin does give some CC to your CoC Specialist since the Pheasant’s previously good CC was nerfed.

    In Imperial Service.

Pheasant + Celestial Guard. I’ve already used him too good success in a Celestial team for the Frontline mission. Being able to have the whole team in scoring position from the start was really nice. I also had a Pango FTO along making it even more effective.

Pheasant + Wu Ming. I’ve only used it once and it worked out pretty well. At first it was just a WM and Zhanying haris but I turned into a core so I could give them the Strategic Deployment.

Pheasant in a Zhian team. It’s great he counts as Zhian but again he can give all of them the Forward Deployment. But I haven’t used it as much yet. One of the things I want to try is with a Bao Thunderbolt. With the FD it can start in +3 range and even in a duo it gets +1 SD.

    Great in these missions:
    • Biotechvore
    • Frontline
    • Supplies
    • Supremacy
    • Battleground

For IS I've been using Wu Ming HRL in a duo for ARO duty and he's always worked well for me. Usually I'll team him up with another cheap Wu Ming, sometimes throwing in a Zhanying for a Haris.

I've also been using Bao MSR in a duo a lot for the +1SD, which is very easy to do with Zhanying, Pheasant, or another Bao.

I want to try that Pheasant + Bao thunderbolt strategic deployment. That looks really cool!

Coming from White Banner I have a few staples that I love to use
    - Team Monk: Liang Kai/Jing Qo + 2 Shaolin. Excellent orders for points with the monks becoming regular with reliable smoke throwers. Kai is pure CC murder while Qo is more of a tech choice by being a specialist and being able to shoot
    - Shang Jisus + Shang Ji Hacker: Very effective self contained team with a big gun, hacking, and a firewall tinbot.
    - Korean Assault Brick: Dokkaebi Mk12, Jujak Engineer, Hwarang Disco baller. Another self contained team. Has a reliable gunfighter, hacking, CC, engineering, and a disco ball.
    - Ye Mao Spitfire + (Killer) Hacker: Blistering fast super jumping duo that can do missions and stack bodies.
    - Yin She Sniper + Spec Operative: Defensive duo that can pick apart MSV AROs while offering both close and long range fire support with E/M weapons.

There's interesting combinations with the Mowang in Imperial Army.
Mowang Mowang duo you don't get much as red fury and spitfire are so similar.

Mowang + Chief Engineer Cheong gets you anti-armor K1 combi rifle, and re-activating discoballs.
Mowang + Hulang gets you short rangeband firepower and deployables, E/M and monofilament vs TAGs. Specialist Operative.
Mowang + LeiGong gives you albedo and e/m, close up shooting

    ---

Wording of Invincibles fireteam means, with Shang Ji or Zuyong glue, you can then include the FTO-2/FTO Hulang and Krit, cover them with a tinbot-6. Shang Ji HMG + FD Krit + FD Hulang + Discoballer Hulang is possible. Or (invincibles) Krit engineers for a Rui Shi getting the +SD.

I can only say for Imperial Service so far.

I’m loving the duo of Long Wang with Shenji with Deployable Cover. First off you have an engineer along with him but the deployable cover is great for the LW. I can use the one that gives +6 ARM because the LW has the natural BS -3 skill. It depends on the situation for which one to use. If I use the regular cover, it’s -6 to be shot. Good for going up against big weapons. But if I feel all I’m going against is small arms, then the saving with +12(the max) means he’s saving on 18-19.

The next thing is the Wildcard Son-Bae FTO. It’s fantastic! I can easily put into a team of Celestials, or even Kuang Shi team. It already gets +1B, then if it’s a 4-man team, it gets +1 Special Die, and +1 BS! Then, just to add on more using an EVO to give it Marksmanship! It can also be used in IA but not sure where I'd used this when you got things like Yan Huo.
