Hello all, Last time I played ITS was N3, so any advice on what's been working (or not) on N5 and the most recent ITS would be great. The main ideia is the first group with 3 fireteams - Squalo duo with Firefly, Magistrate+Jackals Haris and core with Crux Knight as hammer and fennecs with some utility. Tactics being Squalo and core on each side and the haris covering where needed most. Second group with sierra for ARO, and some orders for the peacemaker to go around a bit. That is fine list. If you are looking for tweaks, below would be my major questions: Why the Squalo HMG? If you want an HMG, the Tikblangs would be a better gunfighter and has better mobility with Climbing+. The only reasons I can see to choose a Squalo would be either the dirt cheap 55 profile or the NCO with the Multi-HMG. You might be better with a Tik. If you are willing, the Tik LT is very very strong The Crux Multi-Marksman (PS=5) is much more flexible than the Spitfire, especially in the reactive. In N5, armor is very valuable and sometimes you need to be able to punch through. If you are taking a Magistrate, you should strongly consider taking it as the Lt. It is extremely strong with Strategos. The Banshee KHD is a great profile for accomplishing classifies. It is nice to fit in the list. Below is a revision taking in account of my suggestions that keeps most of your plan: Kestrel 300 - Tik Rev ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 6 4 1 TIKBALANG Heavy Machine Gun, Heavy Flamethrower, Shock Mine / AP CC Weapon(PS=5). Thank you! Great advice. I actually had this problem with the Crux Knight with Spitfire, a cosmoflot Guy with Arm 6 and in cover just ignored my hits, but I thought the higher burst would still be better. Will try the marksman rifle. You were right about the Squalo, I was trying to save some points. Will try this list also, see how it goes. Thanks
Just a quick update after last night's game. It was against Military Orders, mission was Hardlock. Used a slightly altered list because my other drones haven't arrived yet. I also messed up the Crux+Fennec core because I didn't notice that Crux + 3 Fennecs is only level 3, thought they were enought to get BS +1, that's why there's a lone fennec on second group. Would trade him for the tech bee on a new game. Firefly was in a duo with him, so always close by to heal. Used a Magistrate with Chain of Command which was useful when Tik eventually fell after two active rounds in which he downed 120+ pts. Used him (Tik) on a flank, with the Crux+Fennecs core on the other, and got good board control. Got two consoles, which I held until the end. Banshee almost got the beacon, but I was careless in the positioning when trying to run way and he fell - took some chearleaders with him, so not a complete waste. Sacha, on the other hand, rolled only ARM +1 on booty and we played without treasure (we are going slow learning ITS 17 missions), so couldn't do much. Tried to use second group orders to make her get an objective, but she got surprised by a HD and was downed - at least made him appear. On the last round, adversary went last and almost reached one of my consoles to claim victory, but he had few orders (thanks to Tik rampage) and had to take a direct a route with the whole core fireteam waiting, which didn't end well for him. List felt good, parachutist specialists in N5 feels really good, liked the Banshee better than the Scarecrow that I usually bring. Only thing that made me unsure was that only during deployment I noticed that the list doesn't have any visor. But it has a mix of mimetism and albedo on Tik and Crux, so maybe its not that vulnerable.
You can fix both problems by swapping the Crux out for a Griffin. With the spare points you can upgrade the bare bones Fennecs, or you can play around with your points a bit to upgrade a Fennec to Bipandra (making the Magistrate the lieutenant will save you enough points to do this and your available orders stay about the same).
