Aleph is facing most difficult days as a vanilla army since it came in N2. Now we are in N5 era. We are still not in the books. What will happen in N6 ? Still no Aleph will be there ?
Aleph as an army oversight for many things but worst is LT case.
Only proper option for lt is deva and it is an army with many Structure base units without any proper defence for them. Why no asparas in vanilla. why ?

Oh don't worry, they just updated Army and check it out! NO FRELLING IMPACT on Aleph, the least played profile EVER was modified increasing point cost so really nobody will play! I. AM. SHOCKED!

PLUS: mono faction interplanetario (and don't tell me there was 1 player that didn't play that faction) with the news of the news... CA gets another sectorial like it frelling needed it! Even Corregidor got more bang for their buck!

I’ve just started Aleph and here’s what I’m seeing so far.

Maximus is pretty cool. I’m going to be taking him a lot for a while.

I’m having a few problems making lists for missions with a lot of Classified deck cards. Surprisingly there’s not many Elite and Veteran troops. Not that many characters either now. There are a few that can do multiple classified cards.
    • Artalis MI, ENG/DOC, Vet.
    • Deva MI, Hacker/FO/MSV/Sensor, Veteran.
    • Ekdromoi MI, Hacker, Elite.
    • Yadu MI, Hacker/FO, Vet.
I like that vAleph has some fireteams you can’t do in OSS or SP.

Maximus+Artalis ENG is great because the of course ENG but also NCO and K1 Combi.

Sophotech+Dawon has fantastic synergy due to both having 6-4 move and Sophie can fix the Dawon.

Danavas or Deva Hacker +Daleth is good because of the repeater. You can move with the team and the Danavas/Deva as the link leader. Daleth moves into repeater range and Deva hacks. Tactical aware is good if you have the points. I like the Danavas most of the time, but the Deva is better for Classified Deck missions.

NEED Firepower! There’s only regular a few HMGs, some snipers, a couple Missile/HRL launchers. The only teams that get a SD bonus are Yadu HMG/HRL and Satrah Thunderbolt.

Yadu are good. They are essentially un-hackable HI. They have ARM3, 1VIT, NWI just like Haidao or Evaders, but those are all HI and hackable while Yadu are Medium. They are a few points more but have higher WIP and Warhorse. They also have 6-2 move while the others don’t. The problem is that have some competition in their own faction.

Aleph has many strong pieces. Obviously you like Maximus (for as long as they are gonna grant us that anyway...) with an almost total immunity can go base to base to an Oniwaban and not be vaporised. Hector in SP is a good counterpart to that with 3 RO as Lt. Now let's see if CB can keep promises or they are just "white men, split tongue"....

I don't think the will change him too soon. He went down to an HMG for me. He's not that powerful. Even his weapon becomes the equivalent of a normal HMG.

To be clear, all Characters are Veterans:

    ITS17:
    LONG SERVICE
During this season any Trooper whose Trooper Classification
is listed as ‘Character’ also have the Trooper Classification of
    Veteran Troop.

Yes! One of the reasons I like him and would take in missions that I wouldn't normally take a TAG.

I just thought of something I think all Aleph Remotes should have. ECM (Hacking -3 or -6 Firewall). I would think that Aleph Remotes would be a bit more hacking resistant due to being, well Aleph. They have the power of the Human AI behind them and should be a bit tougher than the average Remotes to hacking.

you wish Space Ranger, ECM on REM will never gonna happen. Like many things Background related (Aleph should be pro-active instead of re-active...)

I don’t think every REM should have ECM: Hacker -3.
Adding special skills usually raises the PTS cost for balance reasons, which would be a drawback for Aleph, since their cheerleaders already tend to cost more.
As for the active/passive fluff explanation, I don’t think it really matters, because this kind of equipment is still useful during the active turn.

I think CB intentionally limited Firewall -6 to only Nomads and Yu Jing.
As for Firewall -3, it currently comes with the restriction of the EVO Hacking Program (if it could be used once before the game starts, like Fairy Dust, it would actually help Aleph a bit).
