So i felt I need to "up my game" a bit. One thing I think I need to do is play more TAGs. So, I've decided, for the rest of the year, no matter what I'm playing, or missions, I'm going to use a TAG.

Whenever I would make lists, i would take a TAG out to take more cheaper units. I just tend to not like expensive troops. But I need to break myself of that thinking. So this is going to be for O12, IS, Aleph (I now have Max), I may also kick the dust off my Druze. I haven't played NA2 in years.

I played the Long Wang several times now in IS and thought it was great. I've used my Wreaker only once and it was not bad but I've never used a Zeta. I can't remember the last time I used a Guijia too. I still don't have the actual Blue Wolf. I've been using my 1st edition Guijia as a proxy. Hopefully I'll be able to get a Oyo for when I eventually play my JSA. BTW Max is also going to be my Agememnon. I don't care for the sculpt but don't really have the money anyway.

So what can or want to do to challenge yourself?

For me, playing Military Orders. I will put my Nomads away. I have learned a lot this year about how to play Infinity better. I will try and translate my knowledge and experience across to the space knights and see how I go.

I think it’s always good to challenge yourself. But I also think when you do it, it needs to be consistent. This is why I’m doing TAGs for the rest of the year and no matter what mission. I know TAGs might not be an optimal option for some of them but then I need to figure out how to then use them. Like for a mission that needs a lot of specialists, I’ll use them to kill my opponents specialist.

For example, here’s the list I’m using to play Highly Classified tonight. This will be my first time playing Aleph too.

One of the nice things about Max is since it’s a Character TAG, he counts as a Veteran for some cards. But normally I’d be able to take two other guns or specialsts for the price of him. I have him in a duo with the Artalis ENG for fixing but also the K1. But his main job will be trying to kill off his specialists.

I would like to lean into the HI philosophy of massed armour lists. MO looks like it wants to go that way but the Crux knight and Knight of Justice are very expensive. I would like to retain my experience and knowledge but try and make the HI list playable. I think I will need to look into fireteams more closely. I think optimal FT will not be higher than a level 1 Duo and Haris. But I will playtest and find out.

Maybe in the future, i'll try doing a 10man limit. Usually I try to 14-15 and it would be a good challenge to limit to 10. I can easily do it now if I do TAGs in every game.

Max is insanely strong. Like, actually broken. You just have to adapt your conception of conventional TAG use for him. 2/3rds of the missions in the game revolve around staying alive, often in a zone or on a point of some sort. And Max excels to a ridiculous degree at that.

I agree. A member of out group was playtesting Max in his Kestrel in the lead up to BCB25. Max was a beast to play against. E/M weaponry was the only real threat to him, which I lacked. I had nothing else. He is very hard to brick via hacking too.

Well he was only ok for me in my first game with him. It was just good old fashioned high burst from a Epsilon HMG that used climb + to get no cover shots on him. But it was still fun and I definitely showed this was the first time playing them. Like forgetting my Dawon has remote presence and not going into second unconscious when my Artalis missed his gizmokit roll.

Our next mission is Last Launch. I'm having trouble deciding what I want to play. IS with Long Wang, Aleph again, or O-12/Starmada with Zeta.
