This was almost a month ago. Not years. The TIK was about 6 months, and Squalos mk2 was not long ago as well.

If I had to guess, they are waiting for the rumored Haqqislam/Aleph book for the releases. But this is the first time I have seen a nearly year long drought of models for a major faction. I wish they would at least give me something to look forward to.

I feel like the new Tohaa...

That is a repack. It was a new sculpt roughly 5 years ago.

They're refreshing the tail-end of their TAG line. Jotum and Iguana are the two oldest, still made in metal (followed by Anaconda and the Geckos), TAGs that are in production. Anything older than Bultrak and (current, resculpted) Marut is still in metal, and between 4,5 and 11+ years old.

The minis from the Gencon booth will also be available at Interplanetario, which takes place in July.

Ok. But still new to me. And a second version of an existing TAG.

Ok then that makes sense. I think Maggy is still older though.

I was sort of like that as well when I played Yu Jing. They were always mid to very low but Haqq has been the worst for new models. I can only guess that it's the least popular faction.

    To be precise:
    Oldest TAGs still in production:
    1. Jotum - Febuary 2012,
    2. Iguana - September 2013,
    3. Anaconda - October 2013,
    4. Geckos - Febuary 2014,
    5. Seraph - October 2015,
    6. Guija (2.gen) - October 2015,
    7. Maghariba (2.gen) - April 2016,
    8. Xeodrons - May 2016,
    9. Overdron - September 2016,
    10. Avatar (2.gen) - November 2017,
    11. Szalamandra (2.gen) - December 2017, re-released in June 2025 (Essentials line)
    12. Raicho (2.gen, IIRC) - July 2018,
    13. Sphinx (2.gen) - November 2020,
    14. Blue Wolf - November 2020, re-released in June 2025 (Essentials line)
    15. Cutter (2.gen) - November 2020
    16. Zeta - November 2020,
nb. Zeta is the last of the metal TAGs, the plastic Marut came next (June 2022, ex aequo with Bultrak).

    * 2.gen - this means second sculpt.

Where did you get that? That does help. So I'm wrong on that. However the Blue Wolf was metal. Didn't that come after the Zeta?

    Szalamandra:
    December 2017 - 2.gen

    Blue Wolf:
    November 2020 - 1.gen

I must have missed these two when I was making the list - they were marked as discontinued on the release spreadsheet (as well as the Human Sphere site), while they were re-released as a part of the Essentials line in June 2025.
Weren't they a part of the Code One range that was discontinued back in November 2024...?

Blue Wolf, Zeta, Sphinx (2nd gen), and Cutter (2nd gen) all came out in the same month (Nov 2020). It was marketed as the big TAG month for Code 1 back then. And yes, those four were the last metal TAGs.

Any word if the BW is still metal? The re-release on warsenal says plastic.

CB store says it is metal.
I assume they simply dusted off the old mold and started cranking out fresh copies of the Blue Wolf. I guess they are to their capacity regarding siocast machines churning off WarCrow models (to the point where there are unicool WarCrow models included in the 2nd starter pack), so they decided to stick with metal Essentials TAGs for the duration.

Gotta admit, at this angle its not that awfull.

And what is that? Is that an homage to original sculpt that didn't fit on a base?

I feel, that Iguana is fine and has some Dead Space vibes, but weapon is overdurden. Pilot is so-so...

Yotum... In some moments I have question, but seems fine. Good try. At least they tried to make it look heavier. But the best Yotum is that one from ITS pack. So, this one is just attempt for me.

Paint sets.are fine, but as usual there are question. Scale difference would be visible, with both.
    - Nomad fits new suit design of other alguaciles, would be fine, I guess.
    - Zhanshi have more questions. Really cool miniatures, but so different. In scale and suit. Regular zhanshi from White Banner have winter coats and would be smaller. Those in essential are strange weapon choice and seems different too.
Miniature itself is grate. Just grate! I like it more than the other things. Would be perfect replacement for that new ImpService engineer. More useful. For sure. You've got colors instead of useless crap.

New Iguana is one handsome mech, I like how chunky it is.

I hope when Haqq gets their eventually painting set, it's not a Doctor like the rest. Between the support box doctor, the previous painting set doctor, Avicenna, and older doctor sculpts, you would be able to make a whole core fireteam.

Ghulam NCO with the smoke grenade Launcher would be peak.
