I present: My Moonraker proxies. I was very much caught off-guard when I saw the official models – in my mind they were bipedal robots like everything else in Infinity. I also think they just look weird. So I am using the new Warcor and it's limited edition version as my Moonrakers:
I just looked up the Moonrakers. I have to agree with you, using the WarCor is a better option. Looks cooler than the silly wheeled remotes.
I like the figures Moonrakers but just not as that. But I like retro-scifi and they have that look for me. But I agree, the Warcore is a perfect choice.
Really clever. The way you painted them make them look so different form the official models, though late no how come you didn't fill the "press" since you repurposed the units?
Well spotted! I actually filed it away on the official one, but forgot to do it on the warcor-only edition. Was kinda bummed when I realized it too, but by then I had already airbrushed him and didn't want to start all over again. Anyway, here's a mini I'm more satisfied with – the preorder-exclusive Raveneye:
That's great praise, thank you! I have to admit though, there are more enjoyable themes to paint. I did however have fun with this next one, especially since I got to try my hand at another one of Sergio Luque's paintjobs – the insane reflections on the Nimrod's helmet:
Some may already have noticed it but I realize that I missed something quite important in this army: your bases !!! They are so simple but so effective. Not only the simple with stripe/gradient is easy and quick to make and it provide an elaborate result (yes, quite a paradox here), but the color choice is really adding something to the mini paint scheme. I wish I can handle color choices only half as well as you do.
Indeed the bases look simple but very effective - even the out of place tactical things look somehow good on them ... whyever ,-)
Indeed the bases are simple, effective and unintrusive, excellent work on them, they complement the models even more by not intruding. Nice work on Nimrod's reflections.
Thanks all of you! Yes, I'm very happy with the bases too :) In this case it was very simple: The color scheme is quite desaturated, so the base color had to be saturated in order to provide good contrast. Since I also didn't want the bases to distract too much from the minis, I also knew it couldn't be too far away from the color scheme, like red or green. So blue was kinda by default the only color left ;) We continue with Hippolyta:
Haha, thanks! Didn't look like a kitchen knife to me, but you're right, it's kinda small for an EXP CCW. Thank you :) Now we cone to a big one: The first of two Wreckers. This is the original sculpt, which I converted into the HRL version before CB announced the ITS exclusive version. Since my customer wanted both sculpts and both loadouts though, I had to convert the actual HRL version into an HMG... The result are two unique conversions, simply because CB pulled a successful bait and switch on me :D In both cases, I decided to replace one hand with the chain rifle arm and save myself a bit of work. I also kitbashed some alternative heads, since the original ones just looked silly to me. Here's the finished HRL. It really represents the +1B now :P
