Ahh, I see the issue now. Well, maybe the get JSA, USARF style Army pack, but just without the starter. Bostria said at the GenCon2015 Seminar, that the Caliphate gets an Army pack, so I am pretty convinced this is still true, because Red Veil was in 2016 and at that time in 2015 Bostria must already have known about it.
Carlos told me three (four?) years ago at GenCon that the Khawarij box was expected to be out in the first quarter of the following year. Just sayin'. :D
If I cant rely even on Bostria anymore, what point is there in life? ;) Hmm, okay seriously that killed half of my arguments....meh, RTF will get a box anyway. We just have to believe^^
Should we have any concern about Haqqislam losing a tangible amount of profiles/a sectorial, like Yu Jing? (Not that I would necessarily mind = new army for me).
It hasn't been hinted at for the last few years so it's not likely something to be concerned about...
Yeah, I still remember back in N2 when mixed fireteams and fireteam flexibility was a QK trademark. Looking at the new JSA army list, it looks like the Domaru has essentially become a Hafza-lite, though without the holo-echo shenanigans.
I feel bad for QK, they took out everything that made it special...like, a lot of mercs, haris, mixed fireteams... what QK players thinks about it?
I guess I was also thinking along the lines of how QK now seems a lot less unique - even in the short span of time that I've been playing. I hope we don't lose a lot of faction flavor due to all this mixing of choices. Not super concerned, because I love the game itself and don't see that changing.
I wouldn't be shocked if Gab'qar Khanate became 'unaffiliated rowdy biker sectorial'. If it did, we'd lose Hunzakut, Halqa and Kum (obviously including the twins and Big McHugelarge). There's not too many profiles currently tied up with that sectorial. Of those, Ghazi are a slower replacement for Kum. So aside from their speed, that role is covered in generic. Halqa are on life support anyway, being unofficially official until they get a rework with Khanate. Hunzakut will be a true loss if they went. But I'm sure they could find a place for them in one of the other three sectorials. The twins and Kasym would be a loss too, but not as much I feel as Hunzakut.
I run a Hunzakut in [nearly] every single list I can. I believe others play her quite frequently as well. What little communication we've gotten about the JSA split hopefully indicates we won't lose frequently used profiles. That is one I may actually be upset about if it were to happen.* *There's always DBS to fall back on for running hunzakut, I guess :)
Yeah I think the Hunzakut might be in the Ninja situation if they did it, where it just finds a home in another sectorial due to its popularity. Probably Ramah, since for cheap camo FO QK have Al Hawwa and HB have Farzans.
Quick, cut all units appearing in NA2 from their respective factions :P I mean, sheesh. I still hope that removal of JSA units from vanilla will be capitalized upon to give YJ something, eventually. If anything, new releases sell one way or another. But I am not sure what space Khanate units take in Haqq. I can see an argument when it comes to bikers, but not Hunzas / Halqa. If anything, the latter not having a model means you can sell them without relying on some shenanigans, all you have to do is release them. If anything, sectorials like MO are more likely to go that route before anything Haqq, although we'll see.
I'm just trying to do the discussion without the negativity that's been surrounding the JSA release. Halqa not having currently available models also means they can drop them. They're not above that, even with Haqqislam - remember, we lost Ahl Fassed and gained Al Fasid. They're mechanically different units and have different fluff. For all intents and purposes, Ahl Fassed are gone. I mean, I'm not saying it's going to happen. Just that I wouldn't be shocked. Someone did ask the question. I find Khanate to be the most likely contender if it was to happen.
Well, that would be a shame since Halqa are pretty interesting in a sectorial, something rather unique in this game. But it's not unlikely that there they will become a thing new sectorials are not supposed to have (say, linked mechanized LGL may be questionable). Also I think that I was having a brainfart while I was writing previous post since of course nobody can guarantee that the "remove-replace" exchange won't replace entire roles and niches in a faction completely.
Yeah, I definitely did not bring up losing models to bring in any negativity. I just think it’s a relevant speculation. I really just can’t wait to see what happens with our faction, as Corvus Belli seem to be shaking things up a bit.
I am not too concerned about a split in Haqq right now. From my perspective that was just something to advance the background and the JSA was the perfect fit for that kind of thing. Of course, this could also have been the beginning of a big change in CB strategy, because maybe they realized a faction with more than 2 or 3 Sectorials isnt doable balancingwise. But until we dont see more than another Sectorial splitting apart from their faction, I stay convinced, that we have nothing to be concerned about. I am more concerned if the Supersoldier Programm is still on rails...
