We already have threads for ISS and IA, I thought there should be one for WB too. As far as I can see WB is till the best of the three. I did this for the fun of it making an all Korean Daebak force, and it's not bad! Apart from this and pure Zhanshis its hard to get a pure core in WB because we lack the fillers with keyword, like Secubots from O-12, the engineer variants from Pan O or the widespread keywords from MAF. Mixed core including Heatae and Dokkaebi are also tricky as you are mostly down to L2 and have to relay on 2 (Shang/Jujak), 2 Hwarang or 2 Sulyongs. For Ye Maos I personaly prefer duo or haris (the AP-Spit/Engineer) duo is fast, has good firepower and can do some COs ... still a bit fragile. New BS13 is helpful. The old Monk-Haris can be toned down to duo. The special dice helps a lot with smoke, but "smoke-doge" is less reliable due to the missing boni in 8" ... two monks (with master) still bring cheap orders. Guilangs are still good, while getting a bit cheaper they are still on the more expensive side for infiltrating specialst/minelayers. I will try out an all Guilang list (I have four) maybe coupled with Ninjas and Gudans or even Daofei. I am eager to try Daofei - it looks like he is more dangerous with his AP Spitfire and the suprise mod, that realy works. Gudans could be a new autoinclude with cheap marker orderfuel that can put out fire or em. I am also eager to try a double Blue :-) The new Silver Snakes have good weapons but they are not living their fluff. While albedo is helpful, it not helps much vs TAG (except one). Maybe MSV hunting is their real goal ... but MSV could be brought down by the sheer wight of bullets from Shang for example. Their main problem is, that they are WB fireteams and there is all the juicy stuff you want. So its hard to fit them in - with only one miniature available (soon), you need at least two guys of the same troop (Sulyong, Hwarang) to get them the SD. With a couple of games I am quite happy with WB in N5.
Ye Mao's look cool in N5, they can escort and provide a reroll to fellow super jumpers Bixie and Lei Gong. Yin She makes for a great Adil (Crane) proxy with the back fins, or Hsien in ISS, has albedo in a sectorial with Hwarang and Lei Gong. Gudan are great and WB can take 3. Kunai got gooood buffs, T2 Thunderbolt is very efficiently costed, and the MSR isn't much more. Hwarang got Albedo, that plus BS-3 is an efficient shooter into most MSV, and other profile brings the discoballer. Jujak+Hwarang gets the reroll going for a 3rd member. Imm Arm3 Lei Gong got a lot more durable. Chain of Command might be worth it with an aggressive DaoFei Lt. Sulsa minelayer feels like it'll take the place of guilang minelayer, like a cross between that and the YJ Beasthunter. YJ Beasthunter is a super jumping camo unit in N5. Adil with a continuous spitfire, monofilament, AND a discoballer is a really versatile profile that doesn't pay too much. --- With Ye Mao, Beasthunter, Bixie, Lei Gong, Tigers, White Banner has a lot of pretty good versatile (specialists too) super jumpers that can dash about.
Now yes. At least the HRL. +1 B and comes with sixth sense and combat instinct. Then the contender for closer up. Not bad at all for 25pts.
Ever yes, she is cute, N5 specifically though she is also useful, the above is of course right, but, I would argue that even the missile launcher is good at B2+1 it is a strong active weapon.
Yeah, I saw her recently and was impressed with the amount of stuff you get for 25points, with 2 zhanshis you get 2 dice in aro and 4 dice in active turn with N4 Sixth Sense, You can add a Doctor and Hacker and get basically full core bonuses on her.
Ok… so, I haven’t used them yet, but I’m warming up to at least the camo Gudan. I’ve added them to the lists several times now and they fit well when I seem to only have a few points and my choices are Zhanshi, Chaiyi, etc.
Indexation here a list in WB for the Colder than Carbonite there was no sharing of lists played apart from those from players on the Tactical Awarness podcast and litte in Robert Shepherd (topic here), in the report I worked up I didn't note any traces of Yu JIng, however in the dark net I found Cpl.Crafty who played White Banner and won 7th place, and according to the ITS tournament page there were a few WB players if I'm to believe the logos (I don't have access to Facebook so I can't search their groups which are in private mode.). So at least this player and this sub-secto were present. https://infinityuniverse.com/games/infinity/its/tournament/f797acaab-colder-than-carbonite-2025 Here's the report I made based on the transcript and if you want to read the oral conversation from the dark net it's also below. He took part in the Frontline, Supremacy, Unmasking, Supplies and Mindwipe missions with a specific list. Units that particularly distinguished themselves were the Dokkaebi and Hatae, as well as the Tiger Soldiers, who achieved a total of 8 kills. The Gudans also shone, neutralizing 3 TAGs. The Tiger Soldiers were very effective thanks to their super-jump capability with jet propulsion, enabling them to easily reach strategic positions in the enemy deployment zone. Cpl.Crafty's strategy with his main team was to capture targets, eliminate enemies and divert the Tigers' attention. No one expected to see two Tigers, so orders were diverted from the first group to this opportunistic task force, leaving the Tigers free to act to smash the enemy list while the rest had done part of the Objectives. The Hatae and Dokkaebi were mainly responsible for eliminations, while the Hwrang provided ARO and cover with its discoball. The layered defense, made up of TR bots and Long ya, hindered the opponents considerably, it was a tactic that really hindered the opponent well. Yu Jing's performance overseas was encouraging, with notable results such as the 2nd and 3rd places obtained by IA the previous week. The combat jump was also very effective for Cpl.Crafty, despite the reluctance of some players due to the risk of failure on landing. However, with a 20-25% probability of doing nothing, this risk is deemed acceptable by Cpl.Crafty, especially with the ability to make moves at 6-6 which can be useful for moving up the table, and as Tiger-Soldiers are only 20pts each it's not the end of the world. In short, Cpl.Crafty's list showed great efficiency thanks to a combination of mobility, firepower and strategic defense, enabling him to take a respectable place in this competitive tournament. Transcription from dark net :
I’ve got to get back into playing WB. Or even vYJ. I keep forgetting how Tigers now have super jump now.
Still my biggest disappointment on N5. They don't live up to the backstory at all. Where's the reflective camouflage? Albedo is NOT it. Where's the Mountain Terrain skill? Where's the hacker with PS=3 Total Control? Other than the K1 I don't see much that can take down a Jotum or any other TAG. They eat AP mines for the fun of it.
The video is indeed a little bit disappointing. Displaying the Gudans like they are Silver Snakes too, speaking of camouflage that is not existence. Fluffwise they are specialy developed to fight Pan O TAGs of the Winterfor and this is only the Jotum. Mimetism would be more useful than Albedo (Albedo gives them side role, that nobody excpected or realy want from them - if one loadout had it - fine, but so it will only bloat the unit up). Most of the weapons are too weak in PS - while E/M indeed is very good anti-Tag weapon, even the Jotum has to concider. About the AP mines - I think they are good against TAGs. Their save is halved and no cover is involved. So Jutum is on 7+5 = 12 a roll that can be easily fail. Vs a AP-BS weapon that will be 7+8 = 15 while cover is involved. Even K1 gets to 11.And yes - mountain terrain should be must for a unit that hides in the mountains of svarlaheime and waits for their (hard to overcome) prey. But the MMR-Snake-Guy looks awesome, so he will see the table! Even it is not easy to get him that juicy SD.
They all have either an Emitter or an E-Carbine, which in N5 are one of the best anti TAG or HI weapons in the game. Hassassins are really enjoying their Emitters to great success on the Ayyar. They also have access to the extremely rare Sapper + Albedo combination: (an attacker is taking a BS penalty unless they are using a direct template). Albedo is also great against the rise of Marksmanship pieces and let's you deal Sin Eaters, Lasiqs, Grenzers, and MSV ARO pieces. A Duo is not that expensive and can deal with a range of targets. Getting the Special Die bonus is worth it on the weapons they carry. I would recommend you try them.
The emitter is great but it's only on the BSG and sniper. The carbine kinda sucks. Sapper just sucks. If you don't deploy in the right place it's worthless. If you get out of it you will never spend an order to get it again. Albedo, I think, is still too situational. He can't fire team either. Also, it's not appropriate to their background! Albedo is useless to TAG hunting. Especially the Jotum. Mim -6 is. The video says they had camo! The only one I think is good is the K1 MMR.
