A Tournament with Kestrel

    Well, well, yesterday y played a tournament with Kestrel, finally. Too many things to try.

    Missions were Supplies, Highly Classified and Supremacy. Not having any mission with deployment restrictions made things easier. I just noticed I should have placed the firefly engineer in the same list I have the scarecrow khd.

    I managed to create both lists "similar to what I played in acontecimento", with a lot of mines, but even better.

    Main idea was to create a really dense midfield, hard to move for the rival, while I managed to push my buttons and do things. A list was more focused on ARO and B list on "non aro".

    First Game was against Tungunska, Supplies... I choose list B, lost the initiative, rival choose deployment, so I went for going first. Only to discover I was mainly pinned by Miranda and the QAZ creature... Both disabled 7 of my troupers. Miranda 3: Crux, Fennec, Firefly... QAZ Beasthunter, Yamabushi, Quinn and Peacemaker. Until last turn none of us was capable to catch any supply box. Finally Tunguska player managed to win thanks to the classified objectives. (I´m not telling you too much about this particular match, since maybe my rival play that list in next Satellite, in 5 days).

    Second Game was Highly Classified, I choose list A, with engineer since 2 objectives required it. Against Starmada, once more, I lost the initiative but rival choose deployment. I managed to kill one Kappa snipper with my griffin hmg, ML was hit but save armours rol and went down. After that I managed to do 2 objetives.
    Rival managed to kill the jackal lrl, and after that my hmg griffin. I was in a 4 fennec FT, so I shoot to 15s, even griffin had a vitapack. The hmg bronce shows up, shoot, 4 impacts, 3 wounds, nothing was left for the vitpack. A infiltrated jackal was killed by the bronce, and other by Bixie, who was shoot while jumping down from a building by one of my HRL Blink. I impacted but Bixie survived. My second turn I try to catch Bixie with the Crux, but she won dodge and managed to get too far away. I killed one Raveneye and went back. I tried to set a trap with my second Blink to the Bronze, moving to the duo position and placing the wildparrot. After that I shoot to the bronze with one Thunderbolt fennec. Bronze dodged the shoots and the "mine".

    Starmada second turn was to try to catch with the bronze and the nyoka the closest blink, I was lucky to won a couple of dodge rolls, so they can´t climb without to being exposed to both blinks if they wanted to have covert, this made the rival to use the nyoka. 4 shoots to 6 weren´t match for 1 shoot to 10s... So the Nyoka burned. Bronze did suppressive fire and second turn ended.

    I needed to kill the bronze in order to be able to move with my haris: Crux, Bipandra and Firefly. So, I moved my 2 blinks into my main group. I went with the blink, turn around the corner, and shoots the bronze.4 to 13 vs 3 to 4s... No crits, so in a couple of orders the blink managed to kill the bronze. After that managed to do coupthegrace for predator, and even I was capable to shoot to the Lawkeeper and affect Bixie, hidden behind him. Lawkeeper survived but no Bixie, she went unconscious.

    Crux tried to kill the lawkeeper, he needed 3 orders, lost one wound. After that, Crux and Firefly went to silhouette contact with Bixie, needed for 2 objectives.

    My rival started the turn with 4 orders, more than enough to accomplished 4 objectives. Amazing.

    We ended 10-6, only because he only did 3 from the commons ones.

    And the last, Supremacy, against white banner, I won initiative choose to go first.

    My first turn I wasn´t capable to go more beyond my half table. The LongYa did a great work plus one Hundun snipper. Quinn was lucky to survive the snipper. Don´t remember if was him who killed it or the Crux after it was revealed, I think it was the Crux. One LongYa died but the other survived. I activated 2 consoles. Tried to launch speedballs with vitapack to be more secure but went too far away.

    My rival did not reached neither my half of the table in his turn, killed my peacemaker, my beast hunter, and 1 of 3 of my jackals. One guilang shoots Quinn and he went unconscious.

    Second turn I tried to go beyond my half of the table, but the long ya didn´t wanted to be discovered by my fennecs. So I blocked the LoF with the discoballer, the magistrate went for the vitapack, healed Quinn, then Quinn finally killed the last longya. I was running out of orders by that time. With the one jackal I managed to kill the guilang. Crux, Bipandra and Firefly were moved into a roof by jumping. One more hundum showed up. Lucky me I saved the roll with the Crux.

    My rival came with Liangkai and a Shaling, who tried to kill one jackal and both of my fennecs, by making to explode one mine. Fennecs dodged, shaoling and jackal died. The hundum made unconscious the firefly, but the Crux remains. Then the Yemao Haris with Bixie shows up and the AP Spitifire changed some fire with the Crux, finally, after 3 orders the Knight went unconscious. JingQo was killed by the Yamabushi thanks to the panzerfaust.

    The Jackal which killed the Guilang made me won the round. LiangKai was on one of my quadrants but I had more points there.

    My last turn I still have orders but little firepower, the hundun had a fire exchange with one thunerbolt fennec, finally winning, I tried to jump with Bipandra into the roof were the Crux and the Firefly lied down, but the hundum hit and Bipandra failed the saving roll. I even tried with the scarecrow... but he died too. When my turn ended I only had alive the magistrate and the FO Fennec. At least I managed to kill LiangKai with the fennec and both YeMao with the Yamabushi, who died heroically.

    My rival had only 4 orders, but it was enough to reach my quadrant, activate one console and to perform 2 coup the grace to fulfill predator card. We ended tie.

    Conclusions:

    Kestrel is fun to play (I think not for 2 of my rivals, many complains about too many mines on the field). It finally feels like you don´t run out of options really quick. Crux is a beast. Maybe the best Kestrel profile.
