It's their own forum! They should show some level of interest. There would be less toxic weirdos if they did. Also it's not like Discord, Facebook, Reddit an others don't have it. On discord they have more but the stupid thing goes by so fast you don't see it.
Oh I'm sure CB has some share of responsability in this situation, I'm definitely not saying the opposite. I was just saying why I think they are not showing up anymore. And yeah, it's weird to have a dedicated forum and not use it. Or maybe forums are a thing of the past and you reach more people using Facebook, Discord, etc... Also, except for Reddit which is a sh*thole (globally), I never witnessed this level of toxicity elsewhere than these forums.
lol I've seen worse. Also it depends on your definition of Toxic. Some take valid criticism as “toxic” because they don’t agree with it and have no way to respond to it or know they are wrong but can’t say it. Some are just venting frustration and say something once and it becomes a big “toxic” thing even though it was said only once, ever. I've been all of these things at one time or another. I've also bene a fanboy who thought CB could do no wrong. Which I believe is also "Toxic" in its own way.
Oh, I'm perfectly fine with valid and factual criticism. I'm not the last one blaming CB for all the stupid and random stuff they often do. But this is not what we are talking about here. And sure, go to Twitter or Reddit and you'll see worse. But it doesn't have to be THE worse to start being an issue, right?
Again, what is "THE worse"? To some it's bad, to others it's not. The only thing I find bad is when people start doing personal attacks. Otherwise say whatever you like. Negative or positive. I also never fight anyone based on how they feel about something. I can't fight another persons feelings. I can fight their numbers.
With the lack of moderation, unscheduled downtime, and the fact CB no longer uses the forum to share information, it's clear to me that the forums will be closing soon. Discord and Facebook seem to be their main way of communicating. I would have prefer an official and clear announcement versus this approach of letting it slowly bleed out. This is frustrating as at its peak, the forum was a great place for discussion, building a community, and information. But it looks like CB has made clear they no longer believe it worth the resources (material and emotional).
You may be right, but I certainly hope not. Dedicated forums (like this one) are infinitely superior to the current online discussion alternatives, IMHO.
Agreed. I hate discord because it's so damn hard to read! It's a chat, not a forum! Reddit and FB are almost as bad.
This didn't age well. ; ) In all seriousness, are the forum servers unable to stay online without human interaction? They've been down again for two-ish weeks. That timeline correlates to Christmas/NYE holiday vacations. I don't begrudge anyone their time off and I appreciate CB's effort to provide this forum, but I'm genuinely curious ... what's going on?
Agreed. It's highly unprofessional. It makes them look very amateur and makes us think they don't care about the forum at all. I tried going to Discord but I hate it. It's a chat, not a forum. I can't read what people are try to to talk about. I tried Data Sphere but it's a ghost town there. I'm surprised it still exists.
It honestly gives the impression the forum requires someone to manually press a button to keep it alive for the day. A forum is one of the oldest platforms on the internet, and having an uptime as bad as Corvus Belli's is ridiculous. Never seen a forum so flaky before.
It's getting to the point where they need to send alerts or push notifications when the forum is actually up.
