My Adventures arrived as well... So how do I use the characters in the wargame? I expected to find cards in the box but there are none :'(
Looking at Infinity in comparison: Why do releases for Warcrow seem so incredibly slow? Two boxes per month – that's it?
I hoped that, in the end, they would release new models with alternative poses. But they already announced it would be the same models, so this is not surprising at all.
So Interplanetario with warcrow tournament.... WIth the release schedule, there will be what 3 factions playable? Maybe 2.5. Anyone have insight how they want to run that? I ask as I am an organizer for Nova Open here in DC, and we go end of August and are struggling how to put together anything other than a demo, as the game just wont have releases for competitive play....
I really like the game but not sure you should do a tourney at nova. Having said that there will be 3 playable factions by end of January. Scions will be added...to a limited but motivated audience. Assuming faction 4(ish) launches in April you'll have base box plus may and June releases...which may just stretch to 250 by nova time frame. My bet is cb is just committed to supporting their new game and doesn't picture how to do anything other than tourneys at this point. Everyone else...realistically looking at Sept for 4 ish factions and January 2026 for true momentum with 5 and options. My best advice...maybe do a 200 point tourney in August. That gives 4 playable forces and should get double digit participants. Alternatively run a narrative campaign... escalating up to 150 points, use the type of scenarios from winds as a base for ideas and have a faction win at the end based on narrative points.
They also said Adventures hitting retail shelves by Q1 and new faction (supposedly for Adepticon) AREN'T Scions as they stated, so it will be 4 out of 6 by Interplanetario timeframe, with enough months to release 250pt compo choices for every one of them I guess?
There won't be 3 factions by January, if you can't buy a faction that's not playable. Also, judging by how N5 is going, I'll believe in the rules for the Adventures stuff when I see them. 4 factions by September is really beyond generous if they keep the pace they are setting.
Using this picture as a reference, and considering that CB is releasing the Agressors and Battle Scarred at the end of this month (December), we can guess that the new Faction will be released by the end of April.
I think you are being super optimistic. CB with n5 launch is already behind a lot. I understand they are different teams, but there are already reports of pieces from the n5 box being done in metal vice siocast as production lines arent performing as expected(rumor but CB doesnt communicate so the masses do what masses do). Add into that the difference in marketing(hype is gone from warcrow) makes me think warcrow is really viable in 2026, not 25. But its not dead by any stretch, but I agree that best case is some kind of narrative, or demo kind of 'learn warcrow' event might be the best Nova can do, as there is no info to build from. I hope by adepticon it forms up, for some reason I envision more n5 damage control than warcrow pushes.
I think we are saying mostly the same...with various levels of optimism/ pessimism. Scions will be playable...via pdf print or carda by january...but only for adventures preorder peeps. Adventures availability is likely adepticon ...so march to April time frame. I don't care but feel bad for scions players because you are going to have to buy non optimized skus that are pricey to get warcrow units. I do think new army will be announced and starter set available at adepticon...but gen release will be April. That means by August you get core box plus 2 monthly releases. Assuming a similar approach as tribes and heg ...that is 1 boxes maybe 3 boxes of additional units. Unless it is a very expensive factio point wise there is no way that gets to 250 playable points. My bet is interplanetario will be between 150 to 200 point tourney event or they will be just fine with just 3 armies and mostly 2 on the table. Finally I do agree 2026 is when this game can be considered truly launched. I still hold that they should have focused on all 6 factions starter boxes in the first 6 to 9 months but there are challenges with that too, but at least variation.
I agree, old-times Infinity did that with their 6-miniature starters. It wasn't as flashy as current big flagship starter boxes for two factions (with included tokens, rules and terrain), but you could choose how to start playing the game and familiarizate with the core troops of your chosen faction.
