And the unpowered profile doesn't even have Immunity.

The thought of a Switcher standing behind a corner and trying to hype himself into running headfirst into some enemy heavy is hilarious. Can't wait to fail multiple WIP13 rolls in a row XD

I wonder if some of Ariadnan dogfaces will get TS(WIP) - they had the same at-will transformation ability in the lore as Switchers do, iirc.

Yeah. The unpowered unit feels like it should have Holomask (Securiate), so it is at least a surprise for the opponent. That would be cool.

I don’t think so. I always remember them needing to take a wound to then change. I can’t remember if they had to fail ARM save or it didn’t matter. Our vet Ariadna players can say better than I.

Switcher looks fun but not over the top. They need to spend orders/ARO to switch. But they do look a bit too cheap for what they can do.

On a complete side note, white text on light grey background doesn't really provide good visibility. Something more contrasting would be great

A guy doing the Cyberpunk Edgerunners neural booster thing doesn't strike you as Tunguskan, the epitome of cyberpunk?

    It's pure Tunguska style.
Not what I expected, but it looks useful. I had a more defensive profile in mind.

I actually like it, and even more so because I won't need to buy the model because I can use one of my many new proxies coming from my dead StarCo collection

Basically, activate an implant, go hyper speed and super berserk. A character in The Expanse has a similar power. Note that these types of implants are horrible for your life expectancy as it burns out the body.

Dodge-3 would've been a simple way to represent a flash bang bomb, like how minetism is often represented by specific gear but the rule is just mim-3/-6.

If it is a grenade kind of reaction though, only being able to drop it when you dodge and not being able to offensively throw it into a room is funny but I can accept a game being a game.

We used to have stun grenades in Infinity - N2 & N3, if memory serves me.

The were, most of the time, useless junk, since you had to throw them Speculatively in most cases, just to force a BTS check that imposed Stunned status on those who failed it.
So, serious cost in Orders, so-so chance of success, and if succeeded, the result wasn't worth all the hassle.

RL is one thing, representing it within game rules is completely different.

We would probably have used them more if they stopped showing up on units with no PHY and decent guns, and if Smoke Grenades (and even E/M Grenades) weren't way better and more available. MO in particular, off the top of my head, could make serious use of Stun Grenades on Teutons and the like for approaching Hackers and E/M Templates in close-quarters.

    I beg to differ.
But I used to have Stun Grenades on StarCo's Riot Grrls, if memory serves me. Can't remember, who else.

Smoke Grenades have the benefit of being Targetless. And creating a Zero Visibility Zone.
Meaning you can throw them within LoS, without having to have a legitimate target there. And if you succeeded, the effect was not a subject to any save.

EM Grenade is having all the problems Stun Grenade (and any other grenade except for Smoke) has - either use a lousy Burst, short-ranged weapon off your PH on a FtF roll, or handle the Speculative Fire problems of -6 to hit, Entire Order Skill, but at least it brings a powerful effect: 2 rolls at halved BTM, and if succeessful, Isolation and (on targets vulnerable to it) Immobilized. So, one-shot-stop to things like TAGs, REMs and most HI.

Compare that to the Stun Grenade - you jump through all the loops to maybe put a Stunned state on your targets. Meaning that, if you succeed, they will be unable to declare Attacks, and will suffer -3 to all other skills till the end of the turn.
Sorry, in my opinion that was totally not worth the hassle. Especially once you've spent a couple Orders to move your attacker into the position - spend one more to maybe improve your chances (and remeber, the opponent will be entitled to a Dodge against your speculative attack - possibly rearranging their positons), or just kick the door down and solve it with some Boarding Shotgun attacks beckaed by a full Core?

Now, IRL, tossing a grenade (be it flashbang, fragmentation, or blast, whatever you have at hand) into a room before you storm in is one of the most basic techniques taught. But you don't have to worry about a "-6 for speculative Fire" in a real-life situation. And Infinity is not a simulation (albeit I must admit I liked it when it was more inclined towards simulation) - it is a game. The set of rules CB decided to use to apply to grenades, in conjunction to how they decided to represent "Stun" grenades, made them a rather not interesting option in the game.

And no, I don't have an answer on "how to do it the right way".
Though I'd consider making Stun Grenades Targetless - it could, perhaps, make them a bit more useful - you'd have to see the spot it has to land, but not the enemy model there.
Of course, this in turn would bring the problem of throwing these at Camo Markers (and flashbanging them out of camo automatically, by the fact you force them to take a BTS save), something Smoke doesn't do. So, by solving one problem we create an another one.

I think giving all types of grenades the Targetless rule may make them better.
    Not for grenade launchers though.

A Desert Hexa with better BS and an assault pistol. Well worth it. I assume based on current understanding of the rules that Heavy Rocket (PS=5) means that it is PS=5 in both Hit and Blast mode. That plus the random Wild Parrot and Xvisor should make it a fun unit.

I wonder what Hacking profiles Kestrel will have? It feels like it will have to rely on Scarecrows and A.I.Rs.

I'd guess from this that it has lost one of the modes. Most likely the Hit Mode.

Which was so rarely useful in my experience (either the target was in the open, and thus you wanted that extra 1 DAM more, or the target had a friendly model within blast range, so landing a template there would've been illegal) I wouldn't really care if it's gone.
