Thanks all of you! I'm aware of that :D Let's just say she picked it up from someone who doesn't need it anymore... ;) Another StarCo addition, even if she's not a new sculpt – Avicenna. Since I sold my Bakunin, I can't play her anywhere else anymore, so I decided to get in her line with the rest of the StarCo project and give her the official studio base (compare here to the previous version):
Thanks! Next up: The CSU. In order to stick to my plan of having as many of my StarCo models as possible sporting studio colors (and with the prospect of not needing my CSU for NCA anymore), I decided to strip and repaint my regular release CSU. Here she is in her new pantsuit: And here's the before and after. Which one do you like better?
Looking sweet! I wasn't sold on the CSU model before. I was actually thinking about using securitate or moderator as a CSU proxy. But after seeing your new paint job I'm certainly reconsidering.
Nice to see all of you agreeing with me :) She's a very nice sculpt, with an elegant and subtle yet very effective pose. I like her a lot. Speaking of elegant and subtle... Here's a mercenary I have been looking to own and paint ever since I started the game – the limited edition MSR Bounty Hunter. A friend graciously sent her over, so now I can finally have her as part of my collection :) Fittingly, she'll be the centerpiece of my StarCo list – my Knauf proxy: Spoiler: 1 And yes, the 'subtle' was irony... Spoiler: 2 Two more angles:
Ah, all lovely ladies. I'm particularly fond of the Avicenna model. I know the fluff about body-switching, but I'm always wondering the origin of that was an honest mistake, where someone assumed the original Avicenna was a woman (easy to make mistake from the name in our latin-based languages).
Well it is a bit more complicated, originally it was a male recreation abducted by Haqq and Black hand agents in a terrorist attack that simulated the persons death, after the body was dissected by nomads for study they uploaded the simulated personality altered and with amnesia to an advanced female Lhost and kept her in hiding, eventually the real personality managed to emerge back and merge with the altered personality to form a new hybrid of both.
Even though it doesn't seem I will be able to play her in N5, I also finally painted up the Anaconda I had lying around for ages. For some reasons I can't show her yet, but what I can share is the operator. Let's hope she finally gets good in N5!
Oh, I'm using her as an Authorized Bounty Hunter (Spitfire / Red Fury). Naturally, in the armies that can field such. (Beba from Outrage is my Anaconda Operator mini)
Same on both counts :) I'm considering using her as a Rounder too, once I get the rest of my Bakunians painted. I really don't think it would end well if I tried to take the Anaconda away from Beba...
I misassembled mine, so instead of a decisive fist at the hip she's making a neko paw at eye height Or, charitably, shielding her eyes from the sun.
To be honest, this is my go-to application for models I find surplus (as in: I have them, I have no need for them, and can't exactly sell them off, and simply need to find an application for them). Kind-of universal proxy in reverse ;) Either make them Bounty Hunters (maybe do a little weapon swap, like I did with FirstStrike Dunn), or maybe Brawlers. Bounty Hunters can, after all, look whatever they like, and career mercenaries are a motley bunch, too (albeit with my Brawlers - only the original Rifle brawler being actual Brawler mini) I have painted them in uniform colours, to give them a semblance of military cohesion ;)
