It's not like any of the Aleph armies suffers from a shortage of tools, even with some characters changing sides. And powerful elite units were always a staple of CA lists, nothing will change now. What will most likely change is the characters in question. So far we have no idea how they'll work in their CA iterations and what their weaknesses will be.
When the ‘fluff writer’ is one of the founders of the company and its primary game designer, well… he’s going to make decisions. The overarching story they want to tell is part and parcel of the game, regardless of we might think about the wisdom of that.
Love both these ideas. Alternatively Aleph goes further into historical figures and gets a buff Leonidas whose repeating of the phrase “This is Sparta!” With a distinctly Scottish accent causes the EI to malfunction across Combined space.
Nah, if we’re sticking with the Trojan War and the repercussions, we get Alexander the descendant of Achilles through Olympias.
Very true. Though in that vein we still get a distinctive accent. Just an Irish one not Scottish. As I assume that Aleph will use Colin Farrell as the recreation…
You complained that it will be possible, for no reason because such a list would be quite bad. Anyway.
Aleph gonna get rolled into 012 .. and the faction axed.. I am bitter and I am pissed lost pat one of my favourite units . Lost thalmyoirus niche but. Fun lost the named ekdromi super fun. Now achillies now tuacer not as good as he used to but Ajax’s buddy . And now they rez pat and give him to CA.. I’m supposed to be ok with. My favorite facTion getting ripped apart.. and given too. Another faction… it’s shitty writing and shitty game balance. I’m allowed my opinion. I love infinity quit all my other table tops cause the game is good and had some good balance. Bunt I also played cause vanilla Aleph was so fun and versatile.. now as I watch most of my favorited peices get dragged to the enemy.. I am beyond mad. as for the rules overhaul direct from Carlos it is only an editing. Of wording and streamlining the rules not rewrite
You are allowed your opinion, but I must make a note that until N5 gets fully released, outside of four characters changing sides, you cannot have an opinion because you have no information to make anything other than a guts reaction like you do now. You have no information on the fluff, the rules or the list composition that N5 will have.
As a Yu Jing/Spiral Corp player with no skin in this, if Corvus Belli didn't want people's opinions before the release of the final product then they shouldn't be releasing tidbits like this that will undoubtably be picked apart by the community until more info comes in. Sure, reserving further judgement is recommended until the full release, but saying "you are not allowed an opinion" is a pretty Jade Empire reply. Edit: saw that I misread the first sentence. Regardless, my general point stands that people will devour only what they are given.
As I said, one can have an opinion to the things that are known. "I lost four characters I do not like that" this is an opinion. "rules and game balance will not change, units will remain the same" is a speculation as we do not know what N5 will bring in. Streamlining does not mean parts might no change substantially and we have no idea how lists and profiles will change.
Nah, that's a fact and you know it. But it's ok. That's a nice crystal ball you have here, would you mind sharing where you found it? I'd like to know the future as well.
No Chrystal ball just ranting. I am very upset that 2 of my favorite characters joined the enemy … it hurts my faction which effects. Me wanting to play. I play the game for fun not to win tourneys but because I like table tops. I can’t believe that anyone thinks achillies in CA could be a good thing for the game,
People are going to speculate based on the available information. I speculate that community reaction may have been more positive had CB not marketed one of the most recognisable faces of not just the faction, but the entire game line, in enemy colours without actually bothering to explain what happened, with reassurances to worried customers. Unless I've missed something, the only good news players have gotten are for players of JSA, Vanilla PanO and CA, who have gotten some new models or Sectorials. ALEPH is now dealing with the shock of losing several characters, OOP Sectorial players are dealing with the loss of their rules for a period after N5's launch. This could have all been handled in a way that hurts people less than it has.
I can understand that stance, but I am happy with this new approach. I like having a regular (roughly every two days) drip of new information versus having to wait for a theme week. While it does not give the whole full picture and promotes more speculation, it does drive engagement.
What people seem to be missing is the heart of my favorite faction has lost 7 characters since n4 Not 4. So I have slowly watched my faction get gutted of my favorite stuff… no game balance or new unit or well written fluff is going to change the fact. It’s similar to yu jing getting JSA ripped out… yu jing players were mad I know at least 3 that quit and it took awhile for the faction to bounce back.. I’m not sure what’s hard to understand my favorite piece are going to another faction.. even if they re still available in Aleph they would have lost their uniqueness.
While Aleph lost 7 Characters over N4, they gained a lot of new units and current units got great buffs. We also still don't know what N5 will bring for Aleph.
