People will also start to lose faith and leave if Infinity gets worse and becomes more of a mess because CB can't properly maintain 43 factions. We are already seeing that actually, how many thousands of messages on this forum complaining "my sectorial is left behind and underpowered" "there was no new mini for 5 years" "The game is unbalanced" , etc, etc, etc...

Cutting some "secondary" factions will piss off a minority of the players (because this is what we are talking about, a minority) and will please a majority of players if this allows CB to work on other aspects to improve Infinity (that's a big if, I agree). In any case, it's not like CB really has a choice. 43 factions is insane, this number keeps growing with the new releases and we can clearly see the deleterious effects on the game, which won't get better with 45, 50 or more factions.

You piss people off if you do something. You piss people off if you do nothing. You piss people off if you do A, and the same happens if you do B.

You are always gonna piss someone off. CB just needs to stick a set of realistic design principles and commit to it. Which, tbf, it does look like they are doing.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't, indeed.

Still, I'd appreciate if they have given the problem a thought, and made an effort to keep players form getting pissed.
Communicating - clearly! - to the community would be a good first step.

Communication about N5 has not properly started yet, so people are just assuming things and demand an answers yesterday for something that may be announced tomorrow.

Yes, but that's kind-of crux of the problem: there are some signals from CB, but it isn't, as you say, proper communication.
Leaving people to their own assumptions, based on fragmentary data.

The results are all around here to see.

AP Spitfire Mukhtar! Mukhtar is already my favorite profile in the game. I would absolutely love that.

In regards to PR, communication starts the minute something is announced. Even the lack of communication is communication. That's just kinda how it works, unfortunately.

In this case all we've got to go off of is a series of vague statements from various panels, so of course people are taking those statements and running with them. Might be beneficial for CB to clarify exactly what they're doing regarding the culling/merging of factions sooner rather than later if they want to curb rampant speculation.

I might be the only one who doesn’t want this profile. The Muktar MSV 2 red Fury already does too much. I would rather the Khawarij Mk12 get AP. Gives each their niche.

Nah, I agree. Plus, Mukhtar Red Fury just about got a release - no point in invalidating it.

With this new edition focusin more in vehicles. I think it could be a perfect spot for the khanate of gaqbar, with kum and other troops based in movility. I expect Khanate to be something like cavalry brach of haqqislam

    Cheers.

Can we still wishlist? I forgot to ask CB to add NBW to the Namurr, especially now that it's not broken against Martial Arts! Thank you!

Shujae need to be looked at to give them a niche. Right now they compare poorly to Nadhir. Their fluff states they are drawn from the cubes of foreign agents, so their gear should reflect that. It also seems like CB wants to limit them to rifle-band and shorter weapons. So I think if the got light rocket launchers, emitter (+1B), breaker or multirifle options would provide more on an incentive to use them.

    Sigh.

While Haqqislam will be playable in N5, from the latest it looks like they will NOT be in the Core N5 lore book. They may be in a later book with Aleph and Tohaa. This is really disappointing and while they might be great with the updates for N5, this definitely took some wind out of my sails.

It really feels like we have been downgraded as a piece of the lore. I know practically there is no difference, but it still hurts. Maybe they are trying to do some synergy with Paradise Lost and they will release the Haqqislam lore in conjunction with the show.

    EDIT:

Now, to me as a Vanilla Haqqislam player, it feels the only thing to look forward to in teasers will be rule updates. We likely won't find out anything how Vanilla Haqqislam changes until November 18th.

This is a lore book not a rule book, the fact they have no lore in it does not mean they may or may not get a rework.

    Mint tea and baklava?

Though I guess - with that wind out of your sails - a couple cups of strong, spiced coffee might be advised, effendi.

Errhile, please never change. Your level headed and relaxed attitude is a delight on this forum.

Now I have not been too active here lately (toddlers tend to do that), but I feel like despite not being in the new book, some fun wishlisting is always in order. So as for Ramah super soldiers, Mukhtar does not need an ap spitfire, but i believe should get 6-4 movement. They are designed and intended as speedsters with excellent gunfighting abilities against LI and MI. Hence small teams, Red fury and viral rifles, and not as resilient as other Supers. I just think with thr change to HI giving a lot more 6-2 mov that Mukhtars need a bit of a distinction still without fully breaking the unit. Hence 6-4 can help. Now who i think should get the ap spitfire is the Namurr. Their design screams psuedo HI super soldier made to hunt armor, ie HI, Tags, even rems. Ap rifle, em ccw, d charges, tough but mobile, cc enough to beat most armored units. The spitfire profile begs for ap and i agree that NBW on them could also help them in hunting some new better cc tags.

Now thats all ive got off the top of my head now, but ill give some thought on the other units mentioned too like the shujae to see what i think might be a good fun fix.

Oh, I intend to live forever, or die trying! ;)

Seriously tho, thank you for the kind word, but some folks on this forum do know me IRL, and can attest I'm not all mint tea and baklava. Especially on my worse days.

Thank you for always being you.

I still look forward to N5, but man, I totally never imagined this would happen. I just have to wait to November 18th to see how my favorite faction will change.

I agree I was also hoping to see some leaks regarding Haqq, unsure if I want to buy the lore book if my faction isn't named, now I have to hope this means that Haqq is getting more love put in soon since they will be the focus of a more dedicated book.

I think I can offer a brighter view on that problem:
    • If Haqq (and Tohaa, and IIRC Alef) aren't in the N5 flufbook - also, Killian saying there is a good reason for that (and I reckon the man has good access to CB sources) - it implies, in my eyes, that there is enough things (and important ones) to warrant putting these factions in a separate book. There has to be, it seems, a lot of material and probably events concerning these factions. Remember it was specifically Haqq and Alef who went head to head in Op:Blackwind - this might have a follow-up of some sort.
