    Does anyone ever played a 2vs2 (two headed giant)?

    If or if not would you play everyone with its own army or just different combat groups?
    Would you switch turns AB-CD or A-C-B-D ?

    I‘ll try that with some friends and want to avoid to much of mechanic |& rules clash

    It's been a couple years but, I did a doubles tournament once, and a some fun games of 1v2 or 2v2 with friends. Everybody gets their own army and both "teams" go at once, you're going to want to do a smaller points amount per army (150 or 200 most likely) otherwise things get very crowded and unwieldly. You're going to want to take things slow though since you've got four heads in the game and everyone needs to check LoFs and ZoCs after every order.

    My friends each want to have free choice about their armies, combat groups and troopers.

    So we will try as following:

    Each Player has 200PTS 4SWC for his army - no reinforcements.

    Two players agree who will form a team of their armies.
    Each Team defines one Player wo will role for initiative.

    The Player with Initiative is called Player A and his teammate Player B.

    Team 1 := Player A&B
    Team 2 := Player C&D

    Turns go: A, C, B, D

    Each Player only controls his own order & troops.
    ARO‘s are triggered by each enemy.
    Ressources & Equipment such as orders, Repeaters etc. can not be shared / cooperatively used.

    Effects to a Player (such as loss of lieutenenant etc.) only affects the army of this Player.

    Missions are counted for Teams (so any Player can push buttons or dominate zones etc).

    A thematic way to implement this in a slightly different way is to play with the reinforcements rule... Bear with me. One player has the main army and the other player plays the reinforcements coming in. Treat the orders as separate between these 2 and it could sort of work.

    That certainly seems workable, let us know how it goes.

    While a (very, very) cool idea the big problem with this idea, that I see, is that you have one or two players sitting around for up to two turns waiting to come in and play the game.

    We played 2 games just as i mentioned above - it worked good and was a hell of fun! A lot of ARO‘s due to the big point size and many eyes watching :)

    in the last game we changed the rule above:
    Ressources such as baggage, Repeater and all other kind of friendly effects can be shared / used cooperatively (except orders)… this had a big impact and was the best round!

    2vs2 is my new favorite format! double the players, double the fun!
