I get it. I feel that too. However I’m gonna do the wishful thinking positive and probably foolish thing here and say that maybe just maybe the mechazoid was a preemptive release designed to go with the JSA reinforcements which they kept the rest of a secret and once we get the full story maybe things will change? Like maybe Mechazoid will have fireteam options with the new units or some such thing. We’ll see. But either way, if they do get new units with reinforcements maybe that will give them a shot in the arm. :)
Damn, I want that JSA beasthunter, just because! Actually Kitsune were originally from Chinese spirts so not a bad fit for YJ. I get the feeling they are going to make rules for it that even better than the YJ one. Damn those JSA REF troops look fantastic. The Genbutai are totaly Kamen Rider/Power Ranger looking and I love it. I thought I heard Carlos say they are an HI unit. The Sohei look very cool. I'm guess the equivalent to most other cheap WB troops. N5. Well a lot sooner than I thought. I felt it was coming but I was thinking next Adepticon. So I'm thinking when Carlos said something Big coming, he didn't mean TAGs. Well two more TAGs right after three is a lot. Wreaker, Mecha, Stigmata, New version Sally, TIK, Oyo, Lizard. That's a lot in one year.
From what I understood from the transcript. The N5 arrives in October, but this will be the launch of the communication campaign which will culminate in the release of the new edition after a year, as was the case for the N4. So not fast.
The actual slide at gencon says N5 October 2024. So I’m pretty sure that means the new edition comes out then. Probably will coincide with the campaign but I don’t think we’ll have to wait a year for the new edition based on that.
He specifically says in the video that unlike previous editions they're not waiting a whole year between announcement and release this time. It drops in October. Incredibly hyped :D
PanO versus JSA operations box would be wonderful! With N5, I hope they fully integrate Reinforcements so you can have Reinforcements versus non Reinforcement.
Personally I don’t think that’s a good idea. It’s almost impossible to balance properly when a third of the force come in later so one way will inevitably be the better choice and any event using both will end up being one or the other anyway. I appreciate that a lot of people want this though I just think it would be a mistake.
I think it is fine with pickup games. I hope it could be enabled as an ITS extra for tournaments. I agree it will be hard to balance, but it could lead to some interesting ideas.
