Always disliked Maya as the opiate of the masses, how will it fare? The rest seems business as usual with the Optimates rescuing hapless tourists? What changes do you see? . . . . “Piece of mind? My mind needs a lotta more pieces” (Senor Massacre quote)
Anyone got updates on why we are fighting? Is it business as usual and ignore the fluff or is there some new perspective now that Endsong has been out awhile?
For now, it seems that it is business as usual, but with the small drops we have being getting it looks like it is shaping as some neocolonial wars style conflict with Yu Jing, Pano and CA fighting for the control of the same planet/system.
There's also room now for allying CA (trying to preserve a slowly detonating Digester or Digester clone) with O-12/Aleph (trying to preserve Concilium as an actual planet) against opportunistic (PanO, YJ, NA2) actors trying to grab some neat alien tech, or malevolent actors actively trying to destroy evidence (Spiral) or keep Digester bits out of EI hands (Tohaa). Also, the new wormholes that the detonating digester signaled to must lead somewhere; Everyone is probably scrambling exploration missions. From a storytelling perspective, it is all much more interesting than the previous all-out war.
There are "Maya News" banners at the end of July update video with bits of BG in it : - Nomads and Haqqislam have trouble to be part of Bureau Tiandi program for the exploration of Abraxas and Strygian wormholes. - PanOceania, Yu Jing and Ur Hegemony have already began the exploration using their own spaceships equiped with Minotaur engines. - Vissiorama and the Ur Hegemony are negociating the creation of the first Morat team for Aristeia.
One ofnthe things I would like to see. Really. When it would be co-existence for CA and human sphere. And may be show us CA as something more complex. Not only from the point of view on their military forces. But anyway... Waiting for Aristeia return)
I found that the RPG book about Combined Army is doing a good work showing the Hegemony is not as a monolithic power as it seems.
Indeed, it makes them more believable. Just do not cross the EI in a line that should not be crossed, bug people know.
