So, lore-wise. Bears are human hybrids with a modified version of the antipode virus that permanently forces them into the bear state. That means that these bear people had to have been raised as bear children. Moreover, the whole utilization of bear hybridization for real combat purposes only happened after involvement with the Nomad black labs. But, even if the Nomads got working on the bear hybridization the moment they met (although the Nomads are totally into that shit, so I don't doubt that they would), and even if they started pumping out bearkids right away, that's still not a lot of time, I don't think. I'm not too certain on the timeline there (it is somewhat difficult to find exact dates), but even if the bears only came up after the 5-year timeskip, I'm pretty sure that means that the Human Sphere hasn't actually been in contact with Ariadna long enough for the Bearpode project, and the Bearpodes with them, to be actual adults yet.
Could be. It has already been stated in the fluff that Dog soldiers age rapidly. Edit: So the Commercial conflicts were roughly 20-25 years ago from the current timeline. Definitely would make sense for Bearpodes to probably be teenagers.
I'd just made the regrettable decision of choosing Ariadna as my next project and buying a Bearpode box, and was thinking of painting mine up as a grey, grizzled grizzly. And then I started putting two-and-two together when considering the idea of an 'older' Bearpode. And... yeah. Apparently, in the newest novel, it's said that it's been 20 years since contact. So if Nomads got working on that the very moment the Human Sphere made contact, it'd mean that the oldest possible bearpode would be 19 years old. But most likely younger than that.
In the novel, the dog soldier looks much older than their actual age. But yes, Nomad going to Nomad..
Dawn system was rediscovered 15 years before the then current events with the 5 year time skip 20 years more or less is an accurate assessment. It is unclear how long before rediscover Polaris project was started and how late the Black labs were involved. But Bearpodes been child soldiers is the least controversial and immoral thing the project has, no wonder the old man made sure all directors died.

It reminds me of how “Anime” Infinity can be. The average age of a anime protagonist is 15-16. There’s a LOT of child soldiers in anime lol. All of the Gundam, Naruto, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, etc. I’m surprised we are not seeing more like the Bearpode in other factions, other than McMurrough. I can totally see more in Bakunin and Yu Jing. Don’t tell me Haqqislam hasn’t experimented to see if it would help their super soldier program!
Given the reaction the old man of the mountain had with Polaris project, if they did, whoever did it, probably didn't live long, but definitely regrated it.
