Store #1 needs a point blank discussion.

Well that's what I had. I asked them what was going on. They said it was distributors and that's what they go through. They have had problems before but not to this degree.

I'm going to try some demos and even run a tournament this year. Probably after Adepticon. Right now many are too into 40k. Hopefully they will be disillusioned with the new one soon.

Oh and the the guy from store #2 told me he got information from CB that the prices will be going up! It's already getting too high for me. At some point they might price me out of the game like GW did to me years ago. Part of the reason why I started Infinity was because it was cheaper to get into the game and keep up with it. I could also get blisters instead of whole boxes. Now they are coming out with sets that are $75-95. I just can't do that. I may move on to Star Wars where I can get 4 figures for $50. Sure I know stores like boxes to take up less space but does it matter if I can't buy it? Ok it's taking up less space but it's just sitting there.

Yeah. For the rare time we do play it, I just use the "old" minis in REF like the spektr or EM5 that are in the lists rather than buy stuff that will just sit in the case 99% of the time.

I thought they were making them grey and purple! To me they are not white and purple.

It seems he was indeed going for white. I asked him on Instagram and this was his answer: "The problem was that I wanted to give a lot of contrast in areas that were too small and I ate the white, but don't worry, in the next jobs I will adjust the paint color more."

The thing that baffles me then is why CB let him go through with it. I would have thought they have certain quality standards to ensure their range looks consistent across factions, but apparently they just said "ah it's fine, just do better next time."

Well, CB hasn't always been consistent with their scheme within a faction though. Just look at their Yu Jing range. The armour ranges from brownish-orange to orange to yellow. Not sure if it's the painters or post-processing the photos that made the shift.

it seems you dont remember when Giraldez painted bakunin starter white and orange but CB wanted white and red...

Except once for Giraldez's biography on his career, I don't watch foreign professional painters on twitch so I don't know their working methods in particular, but on the french twitch, professional painters often talk about their working methods, and they all say that they paint step by step where each time they validate with the client, and before painting there's a discussion about the style of the range, faction and miniature, so the commissioned artist is supposed to talk and not leave anything to random, because if there's a mistake it'll be their fault and then the painting time for the correction will be at their expense and not the customer's.
But with CB, it just seems to be a carte blanche with very general indications given at the beginning, and the artists don't bother to look at what's been done in the past, so there's no search for continuity, which is a very big difference with Fabrice Tran, Carasco, Jirio, Zoz,...

Which is pretty silly when you want to do a partnership with Vallejo whose commercial aim is to sell paint sets based on a 'fixed scheme per faction', in the same way it reduces the value of Giraldez's books, 50% of whose interest is in having the recipes to try and copy the catalogue supposed to be fixed. It's as if the directors of Cb had forgotten their past as nerds and forgotten the existence of the whole section of buyers who paint to reproduce the image that made them buy.

Does anyone has a pic of size comparison between the old and new Lizards? I'm considering a conversion like this, but I'm not sure the old arms would fit.

    The list itself:
    1. Tikbalang
    2. ABH sniper
    3. Suitcase CSU
    4. Mary Problems
    5. Gogo Marlene
    6. Operations deck
    7. Endsong Bundle
    8. Observance Bundle
    9. Aftermath
    10. Crimson Stone
This pretty much cements the extraordinary success of the cast-on-demand campaign. Second best thing are, obviously, campaign products receiving heavy publicity. And of course the utility item snuck in, because everyone needs the deck anyways.

This reminds me of GW's discovery that promotions work several years ago, making them start to focus a lot more on bundles, limited offers and so on. They also tried make-on-demand stuff and they still kind of do so, but with less success. Which can be promptly attributed to them fleecing their customers like crazy in them.

The elephant in the room is Blackwind. CS, the older bundle outperformed it, despite the promo campaign, which at least to me is rather unexpected. It had a fairly good design, same promo as CS... Admittedly, we don't know how it sells, it might be 11th or it might be fighting for 35th with the Liberto... but it missing top 10 is definitely odd. I hope it didn't meet the cautionary fate of the Spiral Corps box, especially since it is here to stay as the 2-man starter box for at least another year and it would be cool to have a box that attracts new people to the game. If the upcoming sectorial is Haqq or Aleph, that will also synergize with it.

It was on sale at 50% off for a while at the end of its run, which likely accounts for Crimson Stone coming out on top in terms of CB store sales.

Yeah, even with import duties and fees, selling it at 50% off to clear the warehouse out was clearly popular, kind of surprised the Beyond Box wasn't up there with it.

Glad to see the Gen Con bundle up there, I thought it was a riskier prospect as it isn't an introductory product and the minis were for different factions. The Endsong book shook up the fluff in some really positive ways and I really like the new Caskuda and Maximus.

I think that happened because CB did not warned Giraldez about the change in Bakunin's colors (in time, or at all...). CB then applied a filter to the photo.

More "funny" was the Shikami in YJ colors weeks before Uprising...

I will assume the list is about the 10 products that sold more units along 2023, for sanity's sake, and that there were no "normalization" on the number of sales (that is, adjusting because the Happy Days were like 2 weeks, while Crimson Stone had the whole 54 weeks in the year).

The tikbalang being the most units sold is logical, it's a great unit, you can use it as his Uhlan brother (btw the old Uhlan + Tik box was about 40-45€ when it went OOP...), and the Mary Problems is not really surprising (exclusive new model with a dinamic sculpt that replaces a boring and frankly subpar official one that CB decided to force-feed in a C1 box with other 2 models...). The suitcase CSU is a good model with a great old background (the Ghost in the Shell movie... and I think it was also featured in one chapter of its series Stand Alone Complex 20 years ago), finally leading to the "true" important ranking: the Operations Deck would be really worrying if it wasn't at the top of the sales, because it would mean less people playing ITS! (while you can buy several armies at once, I don't think many people buy more than one operations deck).
The Observance "pack" is also very logical, since it was a nearly complete faction and had 8-9 months of sales.

But I agree that the starting boxes are in a problematic spot, because as someone mentioned already Crimson Stone was at 50% at November (incidentally, I saw in september the same thing for three weeks in certain spanish distributors - eminis, goblintrader, etc.- ... only it was not only both Operation CS and Blackwind, but the full C1 collections at 150-170€, both in person and online! And I can still find those in Goblintrader's physical store in Madrid...). To me, this means fewer people is getting into the game (in Spain, the price has reaching gatekeeping levels for some...), and that is always very bad for a game.

I just hope CB's not trying to just squeeze Infinity until Warcrow launches and then forgetting about the ci-fi side...

Blackwind sold so strongly during its preorder period in 2022 that CB had to delay some shipments while more were manufactured, the last time they had to do that was with Icestorm! I don't think we should read too much into it not hitting top 10 sales for the year.

Guys, PSA - Cast-on-demand is back and the surplus from TAG raid is also currently being sold. Even if you aren't interested in TAG raid, the scenery pack is rather lucrative, given that it costs 30 euro for four turrets, five consoles/antennas, a total of 8 crates of two different models and 8 scenery bases, again in two different types. Compare that with the 73 euro for the objective pack alpha.
