Hi all. I've been playing pretty steadily over the past year. I mostly play Nomads/Corregidor and dabble a bit in Yu Jing/WB. I think running Shasvastii will be a ton of fun, but what should I look out for? What do they struggle the most against, and what units sound nice, but turn out not to work out to good? Any advice would be most appreciated.

The worst things I find the most difficult to face would be enemies with sensor and MSV equipment. They negate our sneakiness which we tend to need as our armor isn’t that great.

Ok. I kind of noticed that while I was putting a team together. So, add Victor if I think there will be a lot of MSV poking holes in my sneaky, sneaky thing. By the way thank you for responding to both of my posts. I appreciate you taking the time to do that.

Hi Greenhadouken. Aside from MSV and Sensors SEF can struggle against entrenched hard targets, particularly HIs using full core bonuses. SEF itself isn't really structured around fireteams, so it's not often we can utilise the same bonuses (though there's a few good Duo or Haris options). Speculos are a solution, but an expensive and relatively fragile one. Cadmus troops can pay off, but are more situational than other AD troops and really need EVO support to have a chance. And finally, Jayths are a solution in search of a problem, and 9/10 times we have a better unit for the job, especially the excellent Caliban. And finally, look up two units equipped with Dazer, it's not as strong as it was in N3, but can still make opponent's life more difficult.

I've had some rather decent success with Shas as of late but MSV and hard targets can indeed be a struggle. The latter even more so as you have some options to abuse against MSV units. Also just as accurate as the fact that it's not a sectorial that's really based around it's fireteams. Your main benefit to playing Shas over vanilla CA is better AVA on some stellar units.

Some of my stand out picks would be Seed Soldiers as they are only 2-4 points more then a Nox and you still get forward camo specialists. I honestly treat them as my line troops. They can't move under camo but often you can put them close enough to objectives to snag them. Noctifiers are also excellent. Both as attackers but also I catch more then my fair share of people off guard when they deal with the first missile launcher Noctifer only to walk into a second. The Gwailo is another I really enjoy as both a middle finger to MSV AROs and also just as a decent HI. The AP Spitfire is pretty sweet on him as an option to punch into harder targets and the Nanoscreen makes it much easier to handle getting into midrange as you aren't so constrained on terrain for firing positions.

The 2 most subpar units for me Stiopa covered being the Cadmus and Jayth. Another point is while it's not impossible for them to work out, I've for the most part stopped taking Nox core links. Nox aren't entirely bad, and you can still make some decent link teams, but personally I've just had better success putting my points into more Calibans, Seed Soldiers, and Noctifiers to name a few.
