Okay, seems CB has suffered from a bit too much success with the cast-on-demand initiative, the order window is closed and will resume next month. Sounds weird, but the move makes sense - if they can't even start dealing with it before the holidays, let alone deliver, better postpone the pre-order and this way people will have something to do with cash they've received for Christmas. I quite like the move, it's a great way to give people what they've missed or what has gone OOP before they started playing, regulates some more insane trends on the secondary market and can provide feedback what people want to see back/again. Like, I'm pretty sure the vast majority of the orders contain at least one tikbalang. So, with the success of this cast-on-demand campaign, it seems more or less certain we'll see another one. The rest of the current lineup is cute girls squad and cyborg dude. Cool preorder and Dire Foes models, but nothing too breathtaking in terms of models on the table or key units profiles. This leaves some rather spicy options for next time... Probably the spiciest will be the gorgos, along with its pilot. The uhlan will also have some fans, although not as much as the tikbalang. Old avatar will be a cool one too, but I doubt they will do it, with the current one well in production. The remaining preorder bonuses are dudes or aliens like the liberto or the cube jager, which I like but well... they aren't too sexy*. There are also numerous Uxia and Joan OOP versions, but most people don't need spares. Much more popular are probably going to be DF protagonists like Bipandra, Rosie (unless USARF gets reworked) or Lupe Balboa (but she might find a regular release, Nomads are hot). There is also a growing number of dead characters of which the most interesting ones are probably Kasym Beg, Asuka and Patrocles. Outside of Dire Foes and preorders, the other incredibly hot thing is probably going to be new runs of Aristeia and Defiance miniatures, where obvious most wanted are Jaan Staar, and Kendrat. Also bits and pieces of loved old concepts like the chicken and the tentacle bots. Overall - there's enough material to keep us entertained for a few years with these. As a devout nomad this wasn't way too appealing for me (I may get cyborg dude, since he is suitably nomadish), but I'm looking forward to seeing what else will become available next time. And I'm rather happy that the Infinity crowd liked the campaign. Anyways, Upir out! _____ *If someone finds them sexy, that's fine too. No kink shaming intended.
They're already casting and dispatching Happy Days orders, the delay is to catch up with all the orders they already have, they're also coming pretty quickly after their Black Friday sale so probably have a lot of restocking to do on other SKUs too.
I would be cool to have polls for most wanted OOP minis over summer, and then a Happy Days run after Black Friday in time for Christmas. I agree, there is old cool stuff to fill such a program for a few years, and it would lessen the pain of seeing minis go OOP if we knew they occasionally make a brief comeback.
I would like to see Defiance Kendrat for sure, the model was one of the reasons I invested into new Morats. Sadly I never managed to obtain the model. I would also like to see the previous Penny on her sci-fi bike return, I always thought the Bootlet model was a llimited release and not the main stay for her. As I did with the sniper BH and Tik, I would instantly pop in an order for these. I took too long to decide on collecting Acontecimento, but if that starter came back, I would be challanged not to pick it up. In this direction, seeing the Acon models make a limited return for those who'd like to play the sectorial would be fantastic (sadly MO won't allow me to field multiple Tik's). Same goes for Tohaa and the more scarce models such as Gorgos, Pilot, Sukeuls and Jaan star. I would like also like to pickup some of the Outrage box characters I missed out on. I have no doubt people have different ideas of what they would like returned - I guess it all depends on how CB feels about bringing just Limited models back, models without remakes, no-longer-purchasable sectorials, or poll-based models etc. Plenty of choice. What I can say for certain, my christmas funding took a nose dive right after I saw that Tikbalang and BH Sniper up for sale - nice one CB ! :)
I love the briefcase csu, but it's not worth the price + the shipping for me to the USA. Hell, same with the Black Friday deal. It'd be cool if some shop would buy a bulk of these and resell here in the USA. I think the Unknown Ranger with shield would be the main one I'd jump on at these prices, but even then it'd be so pricey.
Screw that, real happy days would be a sukuel run. Might actually get one for less than £100 that way!!!
Tentacle or chicken bots may also happen if the upcoming new faction is the Exrah Insectorial or the Gabqar Khanate, which are among the leading candidates anyways.
