To be honest, I would not mind her or some other Baker's modules lost children in TJC (other than Mary I mean). She is not bad for Bakunin, not sure how much practical use she will get though, same would be in Tunguska TBH, much will depend on fireteams and if she goes in any.
To those upset about the amount of nomad releases this year, be aware that Aftermath was on the works since before the pandemic started. It just so happened that the novel was finished in the year of the bakunin rework, and that adds up to make it look like a lot of releases. In any case, the new reinforcement boxes will add a ton of new miniatures for all factions on the upcoming months.
Your and mine definition of a ton seem to differ pretty much. Yes, I'm looking at it from my side of the fence, and the grass ain't looking much greener here. a set of Reinforcements boxes is typically a box of 6 minis plus an additonal release -typically, something big, like a TAG. Out of the 6 models in the Haqq box, 2 (Korsan & Burtuk) are going to be new troops, the other 4, resculpts of pre-existing models and - if Bostria is to be trusted of that - profiles. They don't even know yet what to put in the additional blister. Out of 6 models in the Nomad box, 5 are new, 1 (Prowler) is either a resculpt, or a new loadout for the troop. Plus, there will be a resculpted Lizard TAG The only model NA2 are getting out of this is a LE Samsa, who's hidden in an ITS Winner pack. Not gonna buy the entire pack for one damn cockroach, thank you. So, no, I'm talking maybe 15 miniatures, tops. About half of that not being resculpts. Given I play 7 factions in total (granted, 4 of them are Haqq of every flavour), it somehow doesn't add up to a ton for me. If I come across as a bit salty - sorry.
On the other hand, for me, the Haqqislam Reinforcement box is what I am looking for the most. I don't have the normal Sekban and Al hawwa and have been looking forward to new models for years. For me, it has been a rough 2023 for Haqqislam with so many repacks. The Muyib/Govad box unfortunately does not serve my purposes, so Reinforcements is what I am waiting for.
Well, Haqq wasn't the faction CB looked after the most in recent years, that's true. In fact, it seems like that checks out for most of the years. Oh well... The ongoing changes in CB's approach to listbuilding & box composition seem to pace exactly at the tempo that affects Haqq badly. I'm the lucky old dinosaur I am because I have all the old models...
Speaking of Haqq reinforcements... they could have included the discontinued newer female Odalisque spitfire. Sure, she might have had a tiny spitfire. but at least I could field a newer model. Maybe this will be the 'extra blister', though it could also be Djanbazan, but most likely Azra'il AP Spitfire (cause why would they make the shotgun model often talked about?). I'd actually like it to be a box of one of each :). As for Aftermath Uhahu, I'd like to see the other characters make an appearance in Tunguska and NA2, not sure if (as said about) 2-sectorial-in-one-Bakunin really needs Uhahu as well though.
If we are wishlisting here? A REF Azra'il with alternate arms: Spitfire and Heavy Shotgun. I mean, there was a Taskmaster attempt to do the same - cover two loadouts in a single blister. True, I guess we should expect the new S5 models to come in Siocast. Oh well. Not a fan, but I can live with that. My perfect solution actually would be for CB to release a box set of Azra'il: 2 bodies, 4 weapons. With a skilled desinger, it would be likely to have very little wasted material. Blam, one SKU, covers both the standard QK Azra'il, and the Melek QRF Azra'il in Reinforcements. But I am not hoping for that.
To be fair, I'm way more interested in the Haqq reinforcements box than any other and I'm already playing Qapu for the hype. For me all of the models on the box are models I will use. And the resculpts are really needed.
Like errhile, i was in infinity from N2 with qk, so i have old mini except the new ones. sadly i felt haqq little abandoned compared with the new mini from other factions. so Malek probably is a yes, because a Diogeness disorder/collecting mini from my first faction. I started hassa with the new box, but i don´t like the mixed boxed. I rather prefer a muyib boxed alone, but muyib and gobads were fine and not need it. Cheers
Aftermath is not the problem, the problem is a full rework of Bakunin hot on the heels of a full rework of Corregidor while other sectorials are left to rot. Also, Reinforcements are not a ton of minis and they are not even a regular game mode release.
Only for any other hacker plus in Bakunin. Meaning Custodiers, which were hard to fit with the Reverends fireteam already (because it would be the only fireteam maker, so it's better to use a Moira...). Also, again, now both Corregidor and Bakunin have a hacker plus of WP14 under 20pts. I assume we will see later a BS10 SMG totally-not Cyberghost hacker plus for Tunguska, and the excuse will be "hey, it has 3 BTS less and 1 WP less than Interventors, it was needed" I was going to get the box, to use one zellenkrieger with the supposedly single profile they would all have, and use the now S5 as replacement for the cat-Pupnik (meaning, I was going to buy the new Chimera box), the other 2 as more morlocks, and Uhahu as a civilian. Now, I will merely proxy the Zellenkriegers with morlocks and McMurrough if at all, and pass on the new Chimera since I already have the old one. And I still have my Outrage Uhahu. To be fair, Nomads will get reinforcements too, so if we raise everybody by the same amount, there is no change, just extra numbers. And there is a difference from 1 profile for all 4 Zellenkriegers to, essentially, five. And Uhahu. If only injecting the Zellenkriegers on Tunguska was part of a rework instead of a mere patch, or Uhahu in Bakunin because the box must sell... That's because you started Qapu recently. I only refrained from buying the Azra'il and the Iguana (I prefer geckos for Corregidor)
It is not only Aftermath that makes people raise an eyebrow. Let’s sum it up: - rework Corregidor and a lot of releases - rework Bakunin and a lot of releases - Bakunin profiles with better skills or stat than the previewed ones (they are usually nerfed) - playable HVT with unique skill mix (Robin Hook) - Uhahu buffed and added to Bakunin - Zellenkrieger and the lot entering Bakunin and Tunguska So said, I’m still ok with the game as a whole. As I am ok with factions occasionally getting more stuff. Just keep it “occasionally”.
Well, given the numbers how much StarCo got played she was never a common sight on tourneys. Also StarCo is way less capable of making her work than Bakunin. But presumably she'll lose her D-Charges. And with only S1 she might be seen less (in terms of LOF) but she's going to lose a lot of mobility which means accomplishing objectives with her will be a tad more difficult (people just were made aware that Objectives don't need to be bolted onto the floor).
S1 is a serious mobility restriction, it does not often come up because few servants rarely need to go far from were they are deployed, on the other hand it allows mobility without been seen so I think it averages out.
I don't see it as such. Especially in this particular case. S1 as a restriction really comes into play when vaulting obstacles: S1 can't vault obstacles S2 could. It can't also fire over cover as tall as S2 could. True, but that's about it. Both of the above are highly dependant on the specific table. We casn't, really, call to any specific standard, I guess. The closest I could take for a standard Infinity terrain are the cardboard pieces included with the Operation: X boxes, and scatter terrain there isn't tall enough to make a difference between S1 and S2 model. Then, we have to take the model in question into account. Uhahu is at most an average shot (BS 11), and packing only a sidearm (Assault Pistol - optimal under 8", and heavily penalized from 16" to 24", useless beyond that). Not too resilient (ARM 1, W1 NWI) either. IMO if you have to have her shoot at someone, it means something went very, very wrong already. Most of the time she's absolutely fine tagging along with a Fireteam, or hiding in the rear, likely in Prone, and using her main asset: Hacking Device Plus and WIP 14. Likely through a repeater upfield. And that is something her Silhouette value - or mobility in general - has very little to do with.
I do not disagree as a hacker she usually will stay were she is deployed so her S1 is usually a bonus, if she ever needs to move around (most probably to do objectives) she has an issue moving around as freely as a S2 model that may cost an extra order or more, on the other hand she can take LoF blocking cover easier than a S2 model, so it should average out.
More than "a lot" i'd say. So far this year alone with just Bakunin, Nomads have more figures out than all except Combined, put together.
