Hey, I'd trust a well-made robot with my jobs in a heartbeat. The more baffling part for me is the Crabbot, a Specialist whose only job is to be a Specialist, is the single dumbest thing in the game even below Hungries and Taighas.

Oh nice, yet another soul found out the problematic truth about PanO and CB "inability to perform" when it comes to PanO design space xD

And "usual suspects" will (as usual) post things about git gut or "much tags".

Ech and so goes the circle of life...

<yet another discussion about PanO lack of design space, design goals and ideas>
    L9MlEPwl.jpg

And I'm merciless on CB due to the fact that they are 100% responsible for problems they put themselves into. O12 release being (imho) the last nail in PanO's "identity" coffin.

Ok, I had a questions about low wip of PanO specialists, but what if...

...what if palbots would give them engineer +1 and doctor +1. This little helpers are only in PanO, there are none of them in NA2 (I've checked). It would represent PanO dependence on tecnology. Or may be specialists would have some bonuses to be used through palbots only.

The problem here is that such a thing may create doctors with wip14 which is strange, but may be this thing could be given only to engineers. Engineers have wip 12 exept monstrucker. Doctors are not in priority.

But this is only my thoughts. Against this idea said the fact, that we should not create too much rules.

Funny enough the easiest solution to alleviate PanO design flaws in the short term is just add guns.
Breaker Combis, the new and cheaper N4 Multirifles, siderarms for "I am gun" units, DTWs (less Chainrifles, more LFTs and Nanopulsers) and ofc Auxbot variants (which somehow are an Aleph thing - while PanO only has the GDA).
You could temporarily fix a lot with just that.

Make PanO a true shooting faction by giving them faction wide +1B on everything. Burst is king.

Everyday I look at the KoJ Hacker makes me wanna choose violence.
This is PanO, yet somehow the gun is the problem on an otherwise great toolkit Elite HI?

They shrunk the Squalo, to give it B2 Pistols and the AP Spitfire the S7 Seraph still can't have for reasons.

    Yup, violence, it is.

They did that, and then Nomads and Haqq got it too.

KoJ hacker is great, then you remember De Fersen exists and that Trinity (and spitfire) is worth the 5 extra points 1 SWC and lower BTS.

    And WIP 14.
The KoJ with D-charges is better in CC though.

Jup, that said I'd be very happy to have the choice between DeFe and the 6-2 chassis, BTS9, linkability with Teuton/Orc Firewall on top of a DA CCW for Antimaterial duty...
IF it had a BSG, Breaker/Multi Rifle, BSG (+PZF?) or any SWC gun.

1 point of WIP is not as crucial for me as having trinity, KoJ hacker could be more for sure.

    Fully agreed.

While it’s true the KoJ hacker linked with a Tinbot makes it very hard to be hacked, I’d take De Fersen any day over it for exactly the same reasons as the ones you mentionned.

1 De Fersen covers the same role as a KoJ + offensive hacking + gunfight.

Versatility is very important. While overall it’s better to have a very focused trooper in infinity, in MO versatility is king. You need to squeeze as much value as you can from their individually expensive units.

But what about cc? Is KoJ is better in CC? That’s debatable. And anyway we can all fairly assume that these models would be in a link of Teutons or Hospitalers, which are already very good CC units.

Where KoJ shines though, is in its mobility. But then again… Why would you take it?

You want a mobile HI? Montesa
You want a mobile HI but linked? But for what?
    Bs? Teuton
    Cc? Teuton
ARO? ML teuton is still better thanks to its dodge if the BS odds are against you (and it’s substantially cheaper cost)
Objective making? Well yeah… Montesa is still a better objective maker, and so are Trinitarians. And both are (significantly) cheaper.

Would it have spitfire and forward observer, that would be a very solid pick. But as long as it’s one or the other, I can’t find a reason to fit it

For me KoJ is not a bad unit but it’s overpriced for what it can accomplish. It’s just way too expensive for what it is. Would it go down by a good 5 points I would consider it. And still…

And if you think I’m crazy about -5 points. Think about the following:

Would you take a high mobility 42 points, 1.5 SWC, spitfire (good at LI only), 5ARM, 14BS, 2W model

    or

Would you take a slower 45 points, 0 SWC, +1 damage multi rifle with AP (good at both LI and HI), 5ARM, 15BS, « 3 » W model that Joan is?

I think that both picks would make sense depending on the list. Because I wouldn’t take the former one if at 47pts (more expensive both in Points and SWC). Yet Joan is far from being an autopick.

The higher mobility would be nice in my Bulleteer + hacker duos I run, but having Trinity still outweighs the mobility.

Yeah it’s pretty cool, but still way too expensive for what it can do.
