Alpha Rambo pieces like sphinx, avatar, cutter, marut etc are very difficult for tohaa to deal with as things like pheroware don't work and we've got poor-average at best shooters and shitty hackers.
Tohaa Def have weakness in this regard.

Just one of the better speedhumps in mates and the ever present uncounterable threat of eclipse CC units that means any big rambo piece needs to retreat a fair distance after an attack.

Of course I am not serious about players mental abilities x)

But I trust (more or less) in game design.
I am worried about visual part sometime. Tohaa was a force, that I liked how each miniature looks. Except longarms.
I don’t want them be like morats. Some models good, some could be painted in O-12 colors and “we have an Imposter”.

(IF they would return. But ok, see, I am letting this idea come to my head already and complain about hypothetical design.)

Yeah mates are ok but they're not everywhere and they only slow a Rambo by one order. Tohaa can easily be outgunned. There's not much tohaa can do about rampaging alpha pieces other than eclipse/ignore or eclipse/cc

They have better template ARO than most factions (Flamer Chaksa, Makaul).
They have better traditional ARO than most factions (Sukeul ML, Nikoul).
    They have Mates.
    They have Bombs.
They have a Warcor with Eraser.
They have Endgame on two nearly auto-include piece.
They have Mirrorball on those two main pieces.
They have Eclipse on their warbands.
    They have incredible CC.

They can do more about rampaging alpha pieces than most other factions.

If anything, Tohaa is probably the best faction in the game versus alphas.

Tohaa are bellow par at shooting big tanky stuff in the active turn, sure (and even then the Sukeul HMG kinda disagrees). But let's not pretend they have weakness in places where it's actually their main strength and they're seriously above average (and arguably the best) lmao.

I think you're overstating it a bit tbh. Tohaas templates are no better than other factions. Look at haqq with their shotguns everywhere or ariadna with chain rifles and shotguns aplenty. A sapper and a linked missile launcher is cool, but it's hardly unique is it? It's not going to outshoot a core linked big gun either is it?
All the pheroware stuff is awesome, but it doesn't work against stealth, and it doesn't work against tags or rems. They're also technical weapons so get no burst bonus in aro making them very easy to outburst. There's practically no sixth sense in the faction.
Tohaa are in a decent spot, but you start ramming nasty stuff down their throats you can easily make them fold

Lack of sixth sense is a problem a lot vanillas share, and Tohaa is vanilla.

    • PanO has Black friars HRL, which is solid. Plus Agnes....
    • Yu Jing has Zhanying (Gesundheit), which i don´t see a lot there
    • Haqq runs Odalesques (which I didn´t see in ages) and al fasids
    • Nomads have no Sixth sense on their own except Warcor and Oktavia like everyone else.
    • CA has Maakrep and Taighas
    • Aleph, again, no SixthSense
    • O12 has Bluecoats and Agnes.

The only Vanilla Army with proper SixthSense on units worth it is Ariadna with chasseurs, desperados, vetKazaks and Voronin.
With them tooha also shares the Wardriver, plus dirt cheap (unfortunatly not linkable) kaauris.
Yes, tooha lacks the SixthSense-Warcor, but i´d trade this fella all day for a Diplomatic delegate that has Button-press-power, DTW, pistols that actually kill someone and eraser.
Let´s not forget, that Tooha deep down in their heart are no sectorial, but vanilla with benefits.

NA are not on the list, due to Fireteams.

That's kind of what I'm saying, tohaa is about the same as other factions, not the OP monster it's made out to be.
It has weaknesses that can easily be exploited and strengths that must be respected. Ram a tag or combat rem (especially with via mods) down tohaa's throats and they really start to struggle to contain it as their kit doesn't work, or is outdiced easily.
All factions have access to things that tohaa struggle with.
Yes, tohaa are good in the active phase at playing uninteractive mechanics, but in the reactive, they can easily end up getting minced by a squalo/core linked HMG/combat rem, or having key pieces assassinated by trading pieces that have stealth and/or marker states

Going back to the topic (dissapointing Reinforcements), I'm really surprised that we didn't get more assault oriented troops that would benefit from starting in the middle of the table, like the Kerail Preceptors (to get quickly the beasts in CC) or the Kiel-chan (with its medium-range weapons). Wouldn't it be awesome to deploy a Vulkan Shotgun Ectros right next to the enemies?

I don't know what's the "theme" behind Tohaa's reinforcements, but having Kawai Sentinels (a defensive unit specialized in hunting marker-state enemies) feels weird.

Tbh the kauuri starting in midfield is good as they tend to be armed with short ranged guns with no way to advance up. But yeah, having Kiel saan, ectross kerail's etc would have been far more useful

And how about an AP spitfire in the mid field, with a template that can eat mines up and defend the main piece? Huge lost opportunity for reinforcements not using the gorgos, I'd say!

The reinforcement CB released for Tohaa are clearly just an excuse to say that they did something for Tohaa players. I do not understand why CB decided to put no effort at all and let them fade away. If one new unit is not affordable for the cost of the design and mold, at least a re-release of old units such as Sukeuls or others, but with new profiles/weapons I don't think will have lead CB to bankruptcy. If is so problematic to release as a solo box so put it as a limited edition in some ITS box together with something that sell more in a box of 3 minis. As for the game-mechanics I am sure that Tohaa player will be willing to trade and accept some downgrade of Pheroware for having new units/profiles/sculpts in their sectorial. CB put a lot of efforts to refresh old sectorials(Shasvastii, Bakunin, Steel Phalanx) and making them profitable (also in term of marketing). I would like to ask to CB why for Tohaa this was never tried and instead they are willing to risk with Ehxra.

Most factions don't have continuous templates, most faction has less templates than Tohaa. Sure Haqq also has a very similar amount, that's their thing. Just because you picked the literal only faction that also has a lot doesn't mean the other have nearly anywhere close to it. (vHaqq and HB are also my choice for second best faction to protect versus alpha).

Pheroware doesn't work versus stealth if they're not doing anything, but it works versus stealth the moment they attack anything in your DZ. Sure it doesn't work versus REM or TAG, but those are not relevant in alpha striking your DZ.

Tohaa is the best faction versus alpha strike (I could accept an argument for Haqq or HB), and it's not even close. (This is precisely why these 3 are my main factions lol)

Am I saying that Tohaa is too strong, or that they're without weakness? Absolutely not. But let's not say that their literal strongest aspect is actually one of their weakness lmao.

I still think it's silly that our HI and TAG are hackable. How do you hack vegetable muscle suits with a Human hacking device? I can buy the Combine Army doing it since they have dirty traitors in their army, but Humans shouldn't be able to hack plant material. Flamethrowers are the only hacking device they need against us.

Wait, are there legitimately people here arguing that Tohaa is fragile in any circumstances? No other faction in the game gets close to the same quality of wounds-per-point as Tohaa does. Tohaa can easily get 30 wounds in 15 orders.

Christ, forget I said anything guys.
Clearly tohaa are invincible, unbeatable and not scared of anything in the game, at all.
Everything I've been blown away by an avatar never happened, never had a flank pushed by a hac tao or sphinx either obviously!

    Guys, hakuna your tatas.
Why is it always this desperate whiny overexaggoration?
One side "TOOHA UNKILLABLE OP OMG" other side "all my units die by beeing looked at cause they are less durable than a wet toilettpaper between a bridgetrolls buttocks"
Can we at least agree, that tooha are not at the worst spot of the game (play wise) and that they have, like a lot of other armies, bad and good matchups, pros and cons?
You got Alpha striked by an Avatar or got flanked by fast Camo-Shooters? wow, big deal. Who not?
You were unable to break to the defense of a well positioned Tooha ARO castle and all your effort vanished into a pesky symbio mate? Yep, been there. Dice died for that.

Wounds alone do not safe you from an alpha strike. But avatar&sphinx/hac tao alone do not automaticly annihalte a complete army on their own per default.

I think I said early on Tohaa power level is subjective to the familiarity one has with the faction and units as it is logical Tohaa players can see weaknesses players not familiar with Tohaa cannot perceive.
