Reinforcement Squalo has an AP spitfire profile with NCO. Blades were not what I expected, but we don't know what the non-Reinforcement profiles look like. Seeing the Reinforcements Chassurs today will give me a better idea. Blockers are weird, but being able to drop a sensor unit in the mid-field has some use. The Reinforcement pack being 6 models is nice and let's me wonder what Haqqislam is getting.
@LaughinGod There is more to the equation than directly selling miniatures: Generating interest in the game, keep it fresh, keeping the playerbase engaged. All of this will (hopefully for CV) lead to more sold miniatures. So when you ask "why reinforcement rules when they could have simply done X?", then the answer is: Because with reinforcement rules, there is a lot more going on than with "simply X".
Very interesting. PanO is getting some very nice units, in look and in profile. I’ll be excited to see the actual box sets when they’re released. I’m approaching the new squalo with trepidation. I like its profile but I do hope that the mk2 doesn’t entirely replace its mk1 profile. Hope that sticks around as it’s quite solid. Possibly wishful thinking on my part though. I will be happy overall to see a new s6 Tag for PanO. He’ll fit right in with my tikbalang and uhlans.
Huh, you could get a good count-as pure four man Bolt fireteam for 100pts (Spitfire, drop bears, KHD, and Blade Engineer). That is four regular orders and 1 Tac Aware, which should be plenty sufficient. The big question is if Reinforcements link teams count towards an Army's link team limits. Can Vanilla get a drop in link team?
Blade-ops seems... actually more like a C1 profile, very slim, nothing special. At the end of the day a BS13 mimetism MI. Shpck immunity, terrain Total, are nice gimmicks, but nothing I would pick him for. Maybe the TacAwerness engineer sounds like an interesting option in case i want a eng in advanced position to support some REMs. The Blocker looks great to me. ADH, especially with +1B by itself is always some nasty stuff an can realy ruin a expensive modells day. Plus the option to link him and generate a B3 ADHL is some nasty stuff. And all this comes with X-visor and Sensor. Say Hello to a base of 19 to discover everything anywhere on the field in sight. Realy like it. Also: MULTI-Pistols with B3 are nasty things aswell. Oh damn, plz don´t make me buy this ugly static TAG ... beeing the most vanilla of all vanilla TAGs always prevented me to spend money on Squalo. Best thing in this whole scenario: New Bolts! I cannot imagine the Scalpers faces when they see that preciouse white metal dolls drown deeper than a submarine full of billionairs. Hold tight to you tiks and clauses, they are all you have left for retirement
Fun times! Good thing that fireteam charts pdfs are not needed now because what you get in the army app always takes precedence
Since your reinforcement troops count for your 15 troop limit, not counting commlink+, there is a good chance it also counts for your link team limit. So maybe sectorials can get a bolt core deployed, but vanilla has to "conform" with an Squalo + Blade-Op Duo
I would really like if Vanilla Reinforcements were treated as a Sectorial per se. Wildcards should not be mixed up between standard and reinforcement list. Remember that IT SEEMS only "Reinf" profiles are allowed in the Reinforcement Group, so IT SEEMS you can move a "Reinf" model from R-Group to the starting line up, but you cannot move a "normal" model into the R-Group.
Mimetic bs13 gunners in the midfield is pretty solid. I think a capable haris and chump(s) arriving mid game is the way I'd take my reinforcements rather than a tag and a couple of chumps
Be advised: there was some logistical issues and today's 2nd video will be Yu Jing instead of Ariadna. The Dawn people will get their video tomorrow. Sorry for the inconveniences caused.
I'm hoping that since there's two profiles for Regular troops and Reinforcement troops, that Army won't be a mess with two different versions of the troops. I hope the Reinforcement troops are like how they do Mercenaries. They don't show unless you go in Options and make it so.
Can we have a "re-print" of the old Bolts? Seriously, this is the point keeping me away from rejoining the game.
The old Squalo's still probably the better bet for something actually starting on the board. The extra point of armour matters a bit, and the extra Hacking defense matters more- plus the Squalo's MULTI HMG hits a lot harder in ARO outside of Suppressive Fire. That said, these MK-2s are priced at a low enough cost that bringing two (or one plus a MK-1) isn't inconceivable in a 300pt game, and double-TAG lists tend to be a lot of fun.
